The Identitarian youth movement has veiled one of Vienna’s iconic statues with a burqa in protest at the growing Islamisation of Austria and Europe.
According to the group’s Facebook account the veil was placed on the 65-foot statue of celebrated Austrian national figure Maria Theresa in the early hours of Tuesday morning with the use of a crane to prevent any damage to the monument.
Accompanying the veil was a notice featuring a crossed out burqa illustration with the message: “Islamisation? No thanks!”
A statement by the group read:
“If the politicians keep silent about Islamisation, we need to draw attention to them all the more clearly! Every day our country is a bit more Islamised.”
Action taken by the group was in direct response to the ‘Muslim kindergartens’, and the calls for attacks by Islamists on unbelievers, while so-called ‘experts’ refused to accept that the problem is inherently Islamic.
Referring to Islamist terror attacks on European soil, the group declared:
“We therefore demand a remigration of all the illegal and those Muslims who reject our social order […] furthermore, the political persecution of those people who are concerned about the future of Austria and the fact of the Islamisation of our country must cease.”
The Identitarian movement operates under a banner featuring the iconic Spartan shield and has been described by one media outlet news as ‘hipster-right’.
As well as active public protests it has also hung of a sign atop Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate and scaled the famous Burgtheater in Vienna.
British National Party Chairman, Adam Walker, released a statement:
“The denial by the self-proclaimed experts on the liberal and political left have brought this problem down on our society.
“The politicians pernicious Immigration agenda has not only given rise to vicious and murderous Islamist attacks across the continent but given rise to vigilante groups taking action into their own hands because their concerns are being ignored advices silenced.
“While these same politicians continue to wield power, the problem is set to get much worse.
“They’re to blame for this disaster and they are now they’re trying to slam the stable door while hoping no one has noticed the horse bolt.
“The British National Party holds these politicians directly responsible, that’s why they want to shut us up too, through mendacious allegations from their mainstream news outlets and having their political police persecute our councillors and activists – but it’s not going to work, the BNP will be fighting to keep Britain British.”
