Harriet Harman to stand as Commons Speaker

A surprised Harriet Harman MP wants to be the Speaker of the House of Commons

Harriet Harman has announced she wishes to be the Speaker of the House of Commons, following John Bercow’s resignation.

Harman is the Member of Parliament for Camberwell and Peckham.

Many call her ‘Harriet HarPERSON’ because of her widely ridiculed divisive views on ‘equality’ issues.

For such a divisive figure to become ‘Continuity Bercow’ no doubt sends shivers down the spines of normal democratic people all over the country.

Harman is the architect of positive discrimination in this country. Many working-class people, especially those who are white and male, feel that she has absolute contempt and borderline hatred for many sections of society.

If she were any good at equality, she wouldn’t have landed the Tony Blair Government in a situation where it breached sex discrimination laws.

As a result, men had to wait an extra five years longer to qualify for their winter fuel allowance.

It was Harman who tried to introduce legislation to prevent the public from sending Freedom of Information requests to MPs.

Harriet Harman and the Paedophile Information Exchange

In the 1970s, the National Council for Civil Liberties (NCCL) backed calls by the Paedophile Information Exchange to reduce the age of consent to 10.

Harriet Harman was the legal officer at the NCCL during the time.

She has expressed regret over the links but has repeatedly refused to give a full apology.

She’s also accused newspapers of running a ‘smear campaign’ against her.

Harriet Harman has a track record for divisive politics and constant support for all things Remain.

So, with Harman sat in the Speaker’s chair, it would be even more a case of Parliament vs. The People.

Therefore, it’s tough to see how she can be ‘scrupulously neutral’ if elected as Commons Speaker.
