On Monday evening in Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge (west London), a triple stabbing occurred around 5 pm. The attack left Wayne Broadhurst, a 49-year-old council worker and dog walker, dead at the scene. Two others—a 45-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy—were seriously injured. The man remains in hospital with life-changing injuries, while the teenager has been discharged with non-life- threatening wounds123.
Suspect Details
The accused is Safi Dawood, 22, an Afghan national who entered the UK in a lorry in 2020 and was granted asylum and indefinite leave to remain in 2022. Dawood appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, charged with:
• One count of murder
• Two counts of attempted murder
• Possession of an offensive weapon
He did not confirm his name or speak during the brief hearing and was remanded in custody. He is expected to appear at the Old Bailey within 48 hours.
Wayne Broadhurst worked for Greener Ealing Ltd, which provides environmental services to Ealing Council. The company described him as a “dedicated member of our team” and called his death a “devastating loss”25.
