Britain’s taxpayer-funded foreign aid budget is now at least £2 billion higher than England’s university education budget, with Tory, Labour and Lib Dems all committed to spending even more on overseas “aid” next year.

According to figures released by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), universities will be provided with a fund of £7.3 billion next year, which is some £449 million less than what the institutions expected or needed.

This will cause job losses and thousands of fewer places for British kids at university next year. Scottish and Welsh universities will receive their budgets later, but they are also expected to face cuts.

At the same time, a statement issued by the Department for International Development (DFID) revealed that the “direct spend” budget of the Government’s foreign aid programme for 2010/11 is £7.76 billion — the difference being more than the cut to England’s university funding budget.

As shocking as these figures are, the DFID announcement has deliberately understated the budget spend, hiding the true cost with an administrative trick.

The figures they announced are only the direct aid programme, and not the total cost, which is called the ‘Gross Public Expenditure on Development’ (GPEX), which adds nearly £2 billion each year to total DFID expenditure.

For example, the GPEX in 2007/08 amounted to £6.027 billion, of which £5.2 billion was direct aid. The GPEX for 2006/07 was £7.4 billion, of which £4.9 billion was direct aid, and the GPEX for 2005/06 was £6.6 billion, of which £4.4 billion was direct aid.

Almost all universities have seen funding reduced, with the biggest loser being the London Business School which has had 12 percent taken off its budget. The education budget cuts come at the same time that record numbers of people have applied to go to university.

The Government has claimed that the “deficit” is the cause of the budget cuts.

This does not however explain why the Labour regime can find £9 billion per year for foreign aid and £3 billion per year for the war in Afghanistan.

It seems that the ruling elite would much rather give tax money in “aid” to nuclear powers like Pakistan and India, and fight an illegal and immoral war in Afghanistan, than subsidise British universities.

The Tories are equally complicit in this treason against Britain. The Conservative Party is committed to continuing the conflict in Afghanistan and has announced that they will intensify British involvement in that war.

In addition, the Tories have also promised to increase the foreign aid budget to £13 billion per year.

Only the British National Party demands the immediate withdrawal of Britain from the Afghanistan war which has nothing to do with us.

Only the British National Party says that all foreign aid should be halted and these billions spent on pressing problems — such as education — at home.

Only the British National Party puts the interests of the British people first.

The increasingly laughable and pathetic lying Labour rag known as the Mirror has been caught out lying once again in a smear story which claims someone was converted to the BNP in the 1980s by reading a copy of Identity magazine — which did not even appear until 1999.

The third-rate Mirror, which runs anti-BNP campaigns in alliance with a well-known Communist Party front crank group, published an article from a “Pete” in the “My Story” section of their paper yesterday called “I was a BNP bigot until I fell for this woman.”

The article claims to be the story of a former BNP “regional organiser” who fell in love with a Jamaican woman.

The hilarious lie is contained within the article:

“If someone had said to me in the 80s that I’d marry a black woman, I’d have said ‘Never in a million years!’

“You see, I dread to think how many years I’d been active with the BNP. I was in my late teens when it all started. I was always looking back to the ‘good old days’ of England. I was worried about immigration and I couldn’t see where it would all end.

“Then I read a BNP magazine called Identity, and I thought, ‘I agree with that all the way.’ That’s when I got active doing leafleting for them, and eventually I progressed to regional organiser.

“I was blinded by it. They said what I wanted to hear. I was involved right through the 80s, when BNP founder John Tyndall was in charge before Nick Griffin, who I also became friendly with.”

Unfortunately for the lying Mirror newspaper, Identity magazine was only launched in 1999 after Mr Griffin became leader of the BNP.

It would therefore have been impossible for “Pete” to have been converted to the BNP by reading a copy of Identity in the “1980s” as this bogus article says.

This claim, like the rest of the article, has simply been fabricated.

The British National Party dismisses with contempt these pathetic lies from the increasingly desperate Marxist weirdoes at the Mirror.

It is a measure of their political bankruptcy that they must resort to such weak and easily disprovable lies instead of tackling the real issues of the day, which are:

- Britain is being colonised by the Third World through mass immigration;

- Britain is being Islamified as a result of that immigration invasion;

- Britain is being economically destroyed after decades of Tory and Labour misrule;

- Britain’s sovereignty and independence are being subverted by membership of the European Union; and

- Britain has been dragged into Labour/Tory-supported foreign wars which have nothing to do with us and which are crippling the country’s finances, not to mention the hundreds of deaths they have caused.

These are the real issues upon which people will vote, not made up lies from gutter scribblers masquerading as ‘journalists’.

The destruction of Britain under the Labour/Tory plan took yet another leap forward with the announcement that production of the iconic black cab will be moved to China.

The black cabs were made by Coventry-based companyManganese Bronze, which has now been bought by a Chinese company.

Maganese Bronze confirmed in a statement that the  manufacture of its TX4 black cab vehicles’ body panels and chassis will go to China following the change in ownership.

It said the parts for the TX4 vehicles will now be made in Shanghai following the decision of one of its suppliers to cease production of a specialist painting process.

The decision will cost an estimated 60 British workers their jobs and be yet another body blow to what remains of Britain’s once mighty car industry.

Manganese Bronze sells the bulk of its production to London based taxi companies, with the remainder being sold to cab operators in other major British cities.

These companies will soon have to source new vehicles and spares from China or Germany.

The company is reported as having made a pre-tax loss of over £8m last year, which came on top of a £6m loss in 2008.

Manganese Bronze’s takeover by the Chinese follows the sale of Mini and Rolls-Royce to the Germans, Jaguar Land Rover to the Indians and Aston Martin to a Middle East-based concern.

It illustrates the hollowness of Gordon Brown’s aping of the British National Party’s slogan: “British jobs for British workers.”

When we say it — we mean it.

The Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) has released a “manifesto” which asks all parties to protect the environment — but which conspicuously ignores the single greatest threat to Britain’s countryside, namely immigration-fuelled overpopulation.

Copies of the CPRE’s publication, described as its “Manifesto for the General Election”, have been received by a number of prospective parliamentary candidates across the country.

The document has much to commend it, and much of what it proposes is fully in agreement with British National Party policy on rural and environmental affairs.

It’s what it doesn’t say that speaks volumes.

Despite accepting the need to control urban sprawl and specifically that caused by the Government’s madcap plan to build at least two million new homes over the next 20 years, it says nothing about overpopulation.

Whereas every rational person willingly concedes the need to eradicate fly-tipping, improve rural transport and protect and extend our national parks, few can be unaware of the threat posed by immigration-fuelled overpopulation to both the environment and countryside.

The CPRE document states that they want “enforcement of national targets for at least 80 percent of new housing and 85 percent of commercial development to be on brownfield land.” This is a sentiment the BNP has already endorsed.

Elsewhere in their document they urge people to “campaign strongly for the Green Belt, resisting pressure to alter Green Belt boundaries to allow urban sprawl, and supporting the case for creating new areas of Green Belt.” This has also long been a BNP campaign issue.

Yet nowhere in the CPRE publication does it mention immigration, which is by far the biggest driver of population growth in Britain.

This is a strange omission; arising, some claim, from the CPRE’s slavish subservience to political correctness.

Whatever the reason, the fact remains that population growth in Britain is being driven by mass immigration, with the astonishing birth rates of some sections of the immigrant community a significant secondary factor.

This has this been confirmed by non-political organisations such as MigrationWatch and also widely reported in the media.

There can be no rational excuse for this omission in a document from an organisation claiming to protect rural England.

Both history and common sense should remind us that the greatest threat to any country’s environment and countryside comes from overpopulation. There are only a finite number of people that any given landmass can sustain from its own resources.

How have unsustainable populations in countries such as India and Bangladesh been protective of their respective natural environments or, for that matter, beneficial to the quality of life of their inhabitants?

If the CPRE wants to be taken seriously over its stated aims in respect of protecting the English countryside, then it has to recognise the undeniable link between immigration, overpopulation and environmental damage.

The BNP recognises this link, which is why its stance on rural and environmental issues is both credible and logical, a position arising in no small way from being untainted by political correctness.

The most extreme Islamist in Britain today, Islam4UK leader Anjem Choudary, used to work for the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE), the immediate predecessor to Trevor Phillips’s Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), a BNP News investigation has revealed.

The close ties between the EHRC and the radical Islamist, who has called for a military invasion of Britain by Muslims and arranged demonstrations calling for Queen Elizabeth II to be “cursed by God”, puts a brand new perspective on the recent legal harassment to which the BNP was subjected.

Mr Choudary was most recently in the limelight after he planned to block a Wootton Bassett funeral procession for British soldiers killed in Iraq.

His organisation has also called for the implementation of Sharia law in Britain.

The revelation of his links with the EHRC is contained in a video of a lecture given by Mr Choudary to a closed group of followers which has leaked onto the Internet.

In the lecture, Mr Choudary also calls for a violent Islamic invasion of Britain, which he says would be one of four ways in which Islam will come to dominate Britain.

He also makes some snide and utterly untrue allegations about the BNP, but the important admission in the video comes near the end while  he is discussing how Islam is incompatible with Western society and then admits to having worked for the CRE in the 1990s.

He starts the lecture by detailing the four methods by which Islam is going to overrun Britain.

“The Islamic state my dear Muslims can only come via four means … write them down and remember them. There are only four ways in which the Muslims will take the authority,” Mr Choudary said.

“Number one, if the Islamic state is established somewhere else in the world and they come and they conquer and they take the authority. That is a nice way of doing it, the foreign policy of jihad. They will come and Britain will be under the Sharia.

“The second way that authority can be taken wherever you are in the world is for the people themselves to embrace Islam, and for themselves to rise and take the authority.

“The third way that the authority can be taken is if certain sections of the community overthrow the regime. Like for example in Syria and Pakistan you have military coups.

“Every other year they used to have a military coup in Syria. That is the way in fact the messenger of Mohammed did it in Medina.

“The Fourth way it’s going to happen is if jihad began here like in Kosovo or Bosnia and the people came from another area to support us and the regime was overthrown.

“If you look, in the past it used to be a case of ‘multiculturalism’. They used to say that. Remember that? In the 1970s and 80s the Commission for Racial Equality they used to say “we believe in multiculturalism”.

“I used to work at the CRE at one point in the early 90s.

“Remember with [...?] And, er, he used to be a senior lawyer there in fact. And [...] multiculturalism — everyone has their own culture, you can all practise it together.

“Suddenly the Muslims said ‘hang about — our culture we can’t practice it with you because we believe cutting the hand of the thief. We believe stoning the adulterer. We believe we need to remove you and send the army of jihad.”

This, then, is the type of person who found employment at the EHRC’s predecessor. It is little wonder that this taxpayer-funded political organisation carries out the bidding of those who would see Britain utterly overrun and destroyed.

More than 1000 new membership applications have been received by the British National Party since the membership ban was lifted last Friday, party leader Nick Griffin MEP has announced.

In a special email newsletter released exclusively to subscribers yesterday, Mr Griffin said: “Trevor Phillips and his twisted band of anti-British bigots will probably have a hysterical fit when they read this, but over 1,000 people have joined the British National Party since the membership ban was lifted on Friday afternoon.”

Mr Griffin then took the opportunity to thank all those supporters who gave generously during the difficult months of the membership ban.

The bizarre European Union’s ‘justice’ system means that a libel case in London, brought by a Saudi Arabian against Danish newspapers over the Mohammed cartoons, will be used to suppress freedom of speech in Denmark.

This incredible scenario will play itself out after a Saudi lawyer, Faisal Yamani, launched a case in London’s libel courts on behalf of over 90,000 claimed descendants of the Prophet Mohammed who maintain that the Danish cartoon drawings have defamed them and the Islamic faith.

Ebbe Dal, managing director of Danske Dagblades Forening, the Danish national newspaper association, expressed concern that the UK’s libel laws, considered tough by EU standards, will be used to restrict free speech in more liberal countries such as Denmark.

“The Danish courts have decided that the case is not actionable and that we are allowed to print the drawings in Danish newspapers and websites,” he said.

“It would be very odd if a civilised country like Britain could go against that.

“If this succeeded we would have to pay a lot of money to Saudi Arabians misusing the British courts to make it difficult for freedom of speech.”

Last year Mr Yamani demanded that the Danish newspapers remove all cartoon images of Mohammed from their websites and issue prominent front page apologies.

Eleven Danish newspapers refused to comply with this demand. This refusal has now been followed up with the court action.

Denmark’s justice minister, Lars Barfoed, has now formally complained to the European Commission that the EU rules would force Denmark to enact British court rulings.

It would, he said, “damage Denmark’s ancient right to freedom of expression.

“It would be taking it to the extreme if a UK court could rule against the Danish media and then require compensation and court costs to be paid.”

This point appears to have been acknowledged by an EU official who provided a compelling reason why Britain may be the country of choice for the plaintiffs by saying: “We are well aware that there is a problem with libel and defamation tourism involving Britain, where judges can be sympathetic and damages awards are high.”

Welcome to the EU madhouse, where an alleged offence committed in one country (Denmark) can be brought before the courts of a second country (Britain) by wealthy individuals from a third country (Saudi Arabia).

The most shocking part is that the outcome of the court’s deliberations in Britain can be imposed upon Denmark, even if Danish courts have already ruled against that legal action.

Tory leader David Cameron has blamed whites for black business failures and has promised to start a blacks-only taxpayer-funded national mentoring programme to give financial priority to Afro-Caribbeans over white British people.

Mr Cameron’s shocking display of anti-white racism appeared in an article published today in the far left, extremist Guardian newspaper, titled “We’ll change black Britain.”

In the article, Mr Cameron trotted out all the usual third-rate Marxist claptrap arguments which blame white people for all ills affecting the black community.

According to Mr Cameron, Britain’s black community are “denied” the chance to “escape poverty and build a better life for themselves and their family.”

The reason for this “denial” is, according to Mr Cameron, a “failure to address racial inequality” — in other words, white people’s fault.

Mr Cameron then listed all the problems supposedly caused by evil white people. According to the Tory leader, these problems include:

“Black pupils are permanently excluded from school at more than twice the rate of white pupils.

“Of the 3,000 students who started at Oxford in 2008, only five are black Caribbean in origin.

“This inequality extends to the job market too, with recent research showing almost half of young black people are unemployed, well over twice the rate for young white people,” he said.

If elected, Mr Cameron promised even more affirmative action measures than those already implemented by the Labour Party.

“We’ll introduce concerted action to overcome the racial barriers that exist in Britain today,” Mr Cameron said, and went on to say that a Tory government will institute a “radical plan” which will “include funding for a national mentoring programme for black people who want to start a business.”

Mr Cameron added that the special Tory fund would “provide black entrepreneurs with the targeted support, advice — and, crucially, role models — they need to access finance and work for themselves.”

Finally, Mr Cameron said that his party would provide “role models” which will “inspire a new generation of black people to take on the world.”

The British National Party utterly rejects the Tory (and Labour) obsession with blaming white people for everything that goes wrong in every other community.

The BNP is completely opposed to special set-asides, affirmative action and any policy which puts the interests of the British people last.

Two Government “Climate Change” press advertisements have been judged as misleading and ordered banned by the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) just six weeks after the British National Party initiated a campaign against them.

The two advertisements juxtaposed adapted extracts from popular nursery rhymes with text that warned about the dangers of “global warning.”

One of the banned adverts claimed: “Rub a dub dub, three men in a tub, a necessary course of action due to flash flooding caused by climate change.”

A second said Jack and Jill could not fetch a pail of water because extreme weather due to climate change had caused a drought.

The ASA ruled that the advertisements went beyond mainstream scientific consensus in asserting that climate change would cause flooding and drought.

These were claims which had been made by the now discredited United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

What the ASA didn’t say, but should have, is that the IPCC claim that “extreme weather events would become more frequent and intense” has been retracted following an in-depth study of weather records by independent scientists that established that the claim lacked credibility.

The ASA went on to say that the banned adverts, created on behalf of the Government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to promote its carbon reduction initiative, made exaggerated claims about the threat posed to Britain through global warming.

This development comes just six weeks after the BNP’s “Operation Fightback” urged supporters to lodge complaints with the ASA over misleading Government claims made in its “man-made” global warming “Action on CO2” television adverts.

These used the words “scientists agree” in connection with disputed and in some cases, retracted, IPCC findings.

Specifically Operation Fightback pointed out that the use of the words “scientists agree” implied that all scientists agreed with the now largely debunked IPCC claims made for “man-made” global warming, something which is manifestly untrue.

In Operation Fightback’s opinion, the Government’s use of this terminology was likely to constitute a breach of the BCAP Television Advertising Code section 5 (5.1.1 and 5.1.2) which requires that “no advertisement may directly or by implication mislead” and “no advertisement may mislead by omission.”

Although the advertising standards watchdog did not uphold the hundreds of complaints made by Operation Fightback supporters, it is now clear that it has put them on the alert as far as Government “man-made” climate change propaganda is concerned.

Once again the BNP has made a difference by helping to expose the EU-collaborating Labour regime’s lies.

The Home Office has given a Muslim police support group 15 times more  taxpayer funded handouts than that given to Christian equivalents — proving once again that the ruling elite puts the interests of British people last.

The Christian Police Association (CPA) has been given £15,000 over the past five years while the National Association of Muslim Police (NAMP) was paid £90,000 in the past two years alone, according to Home Office figures.

The Home Office claims that the CPA received an average of £3,000 a year while the NAMP received £45,000 a year. Both organisations have about 2000 members.

The NAMP received general funding of £90,000 over the past two years:£45,000 from 2008/9 and another £45,000 from 2009/10.

The CPA was given general funding of £5,000 in 2004/5 and £10,000 in 2009/10.

According to media reports, Don Axcell, executive director of the CPA, said repeated requests for additional funding had been ignored. He also disputed the Home Office figures, saying that his organisation had been paid even less, only receiving £10,000 in 2009.

According to the NAMP website, that organisation was set up to “represent the interest of Muslim officers and staff within the police service” and its mission statement is “Muslims making a Difference to Policing.”

The organisation says that its key objectives are to create a support network (whatever that may be) and “increase trust /confidence and improve community cohesion” while “raising Islamic Awareness and dealing with Equality issues such as Islamophobia.”

The NAMP has, therefore, an overtly political agenda which is designed to “raise Islamic awareness.”

In contrast, the CPA website says that its mission is to “encourage and support Christians in the Police Service; communicate in words and action, the truth, message and hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ to colleagues and the community we serve; (and) build bridges between the Christian community and the police.”

There is, therefore, no overtly political agenda to the CPA, as it should be. This will also explain why the anti-British ruling elite have favoured the NAMP over the CPA — with your tax money.

A Spanish government project to generate “green” jobs, hailed by American president Obama as a role model for all nations to follow, is in reality a disaster which has seen two jobs destroyed for each green job created.

President Obama has most recently used Spain’s “green initiative” as a blueprint for how the United States should use massive amounts of federal funding to stimulate its economy.

As the ruling elite in modern Britain slavishly follow America in all political trends, it seems inevitable that this type of thinking will spread here as well.

However, a report titled “Study of the effects on employment of public aid to renewable energy sources”, published by Dr Gabriel Calzada from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, has proved that the Spanish green initiative was actually a disaster.

In addition to the net job losses, the study also showed that only one in 10 of the newly created green jobs actually became a permanent job.

Dr Calzada’s study specifically warned that if the US followed Spain down the green jobs route, it should expect similarly disastrous results.

“Spain’s experience (cited by President Obama as a model) reveals with high confidence, by two different methods, that the US should expect a loss of at least 2.2 jobs on average, or about 9 jobs lost for every 4 created, to which we have to add those jobs that non-subsidized investments with the same resources would have created,” the study said.

A few years ago, the Spanish government implemented the European Union decision to invest in green and renewable energy generation.

Funding which would have normally gone into more traditional job creation projects was diverted into the development of hydroelectric, solar and wind electrical generation projects.

The problem with that strategy soon became apparent: the renewable energy sector was far less labour intensive than other energy generation industries. This, Dr Calzada said, showed that jobs had actually been lost and not created.

Yet another problem was that the electricity generated from renewable sources was considerably more expensive than that generated through traditional means and it was the Spanish consumer who bore the increased costs.

This in turn caused high energy use companies, such as iron, steel, chemical and plastic manufacturers, to relocate their factories to other countries outside Spain and the EU where electricity prices were more competitive.

Those companies that could or would not relocate, became uncompetitive and reacted by laying off staff.

The cumulative effect of all these polices was a sharp rise in unemployment in Spain which was exacerbated by severe damage to that nation’s industrial base. The lesson for Britain is self-evident.

Professor Calzada’s study, which is unlikely to be endorsed by either the globalist United Nations or the International Panel on Climate Change, may be read in English here.

Only the British National Party can save Britain from the terror of Islamist colonisation and protect the identity of the British people, said Sikh activist and the first ethnic member of the party, Rajinder Singh, today.

Speaking after being given his party membership card, Mr Singh said he was determined to ensure that the BNP’s “message was heard without distortions and lies.

“All of the other parties follow policies which will result in the Islamification of Britain,” Mr Singh said.

“Already there are over 85 sharia law courts operating in Britain, all with legal force and recognised by the state.

“Sharia law is becoming entrenched in financial institutions as well. This is the direct result of the policies followed by Labour, Conservative and Lib-Dems who have encouraged Islamic immigration,” Mr Singh said.

“I know first-hand the results of Islamist colonisation. I saw what happened to my homeland when it was overrun by Islamists and I do not want that horror visited upon Britain.

“This is tied up very closely to the question of the identity of the British people.

“I am a Sikh and proud to be so, and I respect and support the right of British people to be proud of who they are, and their right to remain the majority population in their homeland.

“No one in India would want that subcontinent to become majority Chinese. The Indian people would reject that as colonisation, which it would be.

“The same goes for Britain,” Mr Singh said, adding that there was a huge difference between small-scale immigration and what is happening today in Britain.

BNP leader Nick Griffin welcomed Mr Singh’s announcement, calling it a “brave step for truth.

Less than a third of failed ‘asylum seekers’ have been removed from Britain despite benefits paid to such people rocketing by a staggering 1,700 percent over the last five years.

Official figures reveal that although around 27,000 failed asylum seekers were ordered to leave Britain in 2008, fewer than 8,000 were actually removed.

It is reported that the cost of paying benefits to asylum rejects increased by 1,700 percent in just five years, confirming fears that Labour has lost whatever grip it may claim to have on the asylum system.

It remains an indisputable fact that although 26,832 “removal notices” were served by the Home Office on failed applicants in 2008, the last year for which complete figures are available, only 7,850 were actually enforced.

This shows a substantial decrease on the 12,200 removed in 2004.

The Labour Government’s failure to remove these illegal immigrants is estimated to have cost the British taxpayer at least £73 million in benefit handouts alone, which is an increase of over £4 million on the 2004 figure.

Meanwhile, the cost to the NHS, law enforcement and the education system remain undisclosed.

The Tory Party, when last in government, changed the law to allow asylum seekers to remain in Britain on state benefits whilst awaiting the outcome of their taxpayer funded appeals.

To be precise, Section 8 of the Tory’s “Asylum and Immigration Appeals Act 1993” gave asylum seekers: “A right of appeal before a special adjudicator for all unsuccessful asylum applications before removal from the UK.”

Meanwhile, as the equally corrupt Labour and Tory parties score cheap points off one another in the run-up to the general election, the British taxpayer is not only suffering daily from their folly but paying through the nose for the ‘privilege’.

The Labour regime’s plan to complete the Conservative Party’s plan to utterly wreck Britain’s manufacturing base took another step forward this week with the announcement that the army’s new light tanks would not be built in this country.

Army bosses had agreed that the 30-year-old Scimitar tank currently in service needed to be replaced and had recommended to the Government that the CV90 armoured reconnaissance vehicle be built by BAe Systems in Newcastle and Telford.

The Government, however, dismissed the army’s preferences and gave the £1 billion contract to General Dynamics for the Ascot armoured vehicle, which is made in Spain and Austria.

Officials at BAe told the media that more than 800 jobs would now be lost in Britain and that there would be a “critical drop in engineering skills” in Britain.

In addition, a BAe spokesman was quoted as saying that the contract would have created “hundreds more jobs at its factories in Newcastle and Telford, in Shropshire.

“It will be difficult to retain the skills in armoured vehicle systems in the UK that are necessary to support the front line,” the BAe company spokesman said, adding, “obviously we are going to have to look again at our footprint in the armoured vehicle sector in the UK.”

In plain English, that means that BAe Systems will now have to close down its armoured vehicle manufacturing facilities in Britain.

The Government’s decision goes against the army’s choice and reveals the lie behind Labour’s promise of “British jobs for British workers.”

More importantly, the closure of the BAe Systems plants will herald the final destruction of the nearly 100-year-old British tank manufacturing industry.

* The plan to gut the manufacturing heart of Britain was first launched by the Conservative Party under Margaret Thatcher. Since then, the Labour government has actively pursued this policy as well.

Current estimates claim that there are some eight million “economically inactive” adults in Britain.

Polish women are being urged to take advantage of cheap flights and the British taxpayer to travel to the UK for ‘free’ pregnancy terminations on the NHS.

A feminist women’s rights group is urging pregnant Poles to take advantage of cheap flights and hotels in a campaign which features a pregnant semi-naked woman with the message  “my choice” written across her stomach.

It may be her choice, but it’s very much at our expense.

It is claimed that posters and leaflets are being distributed by the pro-abortion campaigners throughout Poland, a Catholic country where abortions are illegal except in exceptional circumstances, such as when a woman is the victim of rape or has been diagnosed as likely to have a deformed child.

The adverts, which mimic Mastercard’s series of “priceless” adverts, depict a pregnant woman with the message: “Plane ticket to England at special offer: 300 zloty.

“Accommodation: 240 zloty.

“Abortion in a public clinic: 0 zloty.

“Relief after a procedure carried out in decent conditions — priceless.”

The zloty is currently worth about 25 pence.

At the foot of each advertisement are two globes resembling a Mastercard logo and the message: “’For everything, you pay less than an underground abortion in Poland.”

This is just another example of the long-established ‘health tourism’ scam where foreigners travel to Britain to exploit our NHS — a scam estimated to cost the NHS £200 million a year in clinical fees and an undisclosed sum in translator costs.

Although foreigners receiving treatment are supposed to pay their bills, NHS health trusts frequently find it impossible to recoup the money.

Polish and other EU ‘abortion tourists’ travel to Britain to exploit EU regulations that give them the legal ‘right’ to a ‘free’ abortion on the NHS, so long as they claim that the procedure is an ‘emergency’, they do not have to pay a penny towards the costs.

This situation has earned Britain a shameful appellation as the “Abortion Capital of Europe.”

A spokesperson for the charity Patient Concern said: “’When you consider the mess the NHS is in at the moment we can’t afford to treat people who have been paying into it all their lives, let alone women from abroad who want to get rid of unwanted pregnancies.”

It is widely reported that energy bills will rocket under a European Union (EU) plan to impose the world’s most stringent restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions, a move wholly in line with the United Nations (UN) stated intention of progressing towards “global governance.”

The EU also claims that investment in green technology will create millions of new jobs, this despite the Spanish experience where, for every one green job created, 2.2 jobs in traditional industry have been lost.

The Taxpayers’ Alliance says that meeting the EU’s 30 percent target would cause a reduction in the size of the economy, reducing Britain’s GDP by a massive 30 percent, or £500 billion from anticipated 2020 levels.

Ignoring these inconvenient facts, Britain’s corrupt Labour EU-collaborator regime supported a proposal tabled in Brussels for a new, much more onerous EU target for reducing carbon dioxide.

Yet despite growing worldwide acceptance that there has been no significant global warming for a decade, the globalist EU has gone further than the rest of the world by accepting a legally binding commitment to cut emissions by 20 percent on 1990 levels by 2020 to “reduce global warming.”

It now says it is preparing to increase that target to 30 percent, despite the failure of December’s climate change summit in Copenhagen and the discrediting of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) outlandish “man-made” global warming claims.

As yet not a single EU spokesperson has explained why it is necessary to raise taxes to resolve a non-problem.

Meanwhile, the United States is debating whether to cut emissions by a modest 4 percent on 1990 levels by 2020 but isn’t expected to make a decision until 2011 at the earliest.

Furthermore, Gordon Brown’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) is alleged to have calculated the cost to Britain of meeting its share of the EU’s proposed 30 percent reduction.

For some unspecified reason, the DECC refuses to disclose the figure, which is anticipated to run into the hundreds of billions of pounds.

Yet, the 30 percent target under discussion by the EU’s environment ministers represents a distinct change from their previous stance, which had it that the higher target would only be adopted if international agreement on emissions reductions is achieved, something that is not likely to happen this year.

In another worrying development for taxpayers, it is further reported that the EU is also conducting a study on how much higher taxes on coal, gas and oil would need to be increased in order to achieve the 30 percent cut in greenhouse gas emissions.

Incidentally, the largest greenhouse gas, by volume, is water vapour — not carbon dioxide.

The largest single cause of water vapour in the atmosphere is the sun acting on the world’s oceans.

Sources claim that the study has to be ready in time for the EU to make a decision on the higher target in June, six months ahead of the next UN/IPCC “global governance” climate summit in Cancun, Mexico.

The Commission admits the summit is unlikely to deliver a legally binding deal but says the EU still needs to commit to “concrete and determined action to become the most climate friendly region in the world.”

All of which begs the obvious question, why are the EU and its agencies still intent on imposing green taxes to achieve a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions when the “science” underpinning the “need” for such a reduction has been shown to be erroneous, if not downright fraudulent?

The collapse in support for French president Nicholas Sarkozy in France’s local elections has occurred after his UMP party failed to live up to any of its promises to protect French identity and is likely to be the path which Britain’s Tory party will follow should it win this year’s elections.

The UMP’s collapse in support was shadowed by a dramatic rise in support for the patriotic Front National (FN) under Jean Marie Le Pen, which polled 12 percent of the national vote.

Mr Le Pen, a personal friend of British National Party leader Nick Griffin and a fellow Euro parliamentarian, took 21 percent of the vote in the Provence Alpes Cotes d’Azur region, while his daughter Marine won 19.1 percent in the Nord Pas de Calais area.

Other notable FN successes were recorded in Champagne-Ardenne (15.9 percent), Picardie (15.8 percent), Lorraine (14.9 percent), Rhone-Alpes (14 percent), Languedoc-Roussillon (12.7 percent), Bourgogne (12 percent) and Haute-Normandie (11.8 percent) regions.

The result is a marked improvement on the 4.3 percent polled by the FN in the 2007 legislative elections and the 6.8 percent it received in last year’s European elections.

Under the complicated French electoral voting system, any party or alliance must have over 50 percent of the vote to form a government.

As a result, a second round of elections will now be held next weekend to which the FN has automatically been promoted in all 12 regions where it polled more than 10 percent of the vote.

The sudden spike in support for the FN has an important lesson for Britain.

Many in France were beguiled by Mr Sarkozy’s deceitful “conservative” rhetoric at the last French general election and voted for the UMP, convinced that he would be honest and actually implement his election promises particularly with regard to immigration and French identity.

The regional elections were preceded by almost non-stop publicity for a national identity debate, which was meant to re-instill pride in traditional Gallic values.

Instead official internet forums and public meetings turned into a sounding board for people complaining about France’s growing Muslim community, which at more than six million is now the largest in Western Europe.

It has not taken long for the French voters to see that Mr Sarkozy had no intention of carrying out any of his important election promises, and the rise in support for the FN is being attributed to the disgust at the UMP’s policy failure.

Polls in Britain have suggested that David Cameron and the Tories might win the next election here.

If so, voters who trusted Mr Cameron will also inevitably find themselves disappointed with the results, as was the case with Mr Sarkozy.

Should this scenario play itself out, the British National Party stands to gain as thousands of disillusioned voters will be looking for an alternative which is genuinely different and not just another establishment Tory/Sarkozy scam.

That alternative is the BNP.

Trevor Phillips, the Government’s Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) chief, has been referred to Parliament’s Committee for Standards and Privileges over possible contempt of Parliament, according to media reports.

It is further claimed that the £112,000-a-year head of the EHRC will be challenged to show some leadership — and justify his salary.

In a damning report from a cross-party group of MPs and peers, Phillips is said to have exercised a “divisive tenure”, under which a third of the quango’s senior figures have quit.

The report also supports the widely held view that the EHRC’s relationship with the Labour government compromises its independence, with Labour’s deputy leader Harriet Harman being criticised for reappointing Mr Phillips to the post without consulting Parliament.

This decision, it suggests, could: “undermine the perceived independence of the Commission.”

The report, by Parliament’s Joint Human Rights Committee, will also, it is claimed, put pressure on Phillips to justify his position which reportedly requires him to work a three-and-a-half-day week for a taxpayer funded salary of £112,000.

Other significant issues include the fact that no fewer than six of the Commission’s 18 board members quit between March and July last year.

Phillips was also accused of operating a “culture of intimidation and cronyism.”

Furthermore, media reports claim that Phillips has been referred to the Committee of Standards and Privileges over possible contempt of Parliament, after allegedly attempting to speak to MPs ahead of the report’s publication.”

Meanwhile, in a separate media report, the EHRC has threatened police forces with lawsuits after alleging that stop and search powers are being used “disproportionately” against ethnic minorities.

The Government’s “Equalities” quango is funded to the tune of £70 million by the taxpayer.

Give Your Vote!: Relinquish your right to hold your politicians to account.

A project launched today by the Marxist Egality organisation is urging British voters to donate their democratic right to vote to third world citizens from Ghana, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

UK Participants will explain the policies of various UK political parties to their adopted foreign national; the participant will then act as a proxy, voting on behalf of their adoptee.

The scheme, known as ‘Give Your Vote’, claims that democracy has no borders and aims to give foreign nationals a chance to influence British policies on issues such as immigration, climate change and foreign aid.

Despite a national debt of 1.4 trillion pounds, Britain is already one of the world’s biggest donors of foreign aid, having shelled out 5.5 billion pounds between 2008 and 2009.

The group seems keen to punish the prosperity of Britain, citing UK carbon emissions as the cause of Bangladeshi poverty.

British Nationalists are unlikely to applaud the scheme after it was revealed that foreign Islamists already wield significant political influence in inner city constituencies.

Extreme left parties and the ruling Labour party are the expected  beneficiaries of the proxy votes.

An Electoral Commission spokesman said that this is the first such scheme he has ever encountered and that the campaign is legal as long as the votes are not paid for.

Egality claims that hundreds have signed up for the scheme, with thousands more expected.

There is currently no such scheme allowing the British electorate to influence the governments of nations which inadvertently promote mass immigration because of poor governance.

Muslims now account for 12 percent of the prison population of Britain, and double that number in high security jails, according to a BBC report on Islam in UK jails.

The Muslim prison population in England and Wales has risen sharply in recent years and with it claims from both former inmates and prison officers that gangs of Muslim prisoners are an increasingly powerful force.

One former inmate is quoted as claiming: “Muslims run it. Muslims run the prisons and there’s nothing the screws can do about it. For a Muslim you’d say it’s good but for a non-Muslim, it’s very, very bad.”

Worryingly, this is a claim that is backed by former prison officers and other inmates — including Muslims.

According to the BBC, one Muslim habitual offender openly admitted to helping to convert non-Muslim inmates to Islam and using violence against anyone who dared to “disrespect” his religion.

He claimed that he received his first prison term at the age of 15, remarking that there were hardly any Muslim inmates back then.

“At the beginning not many knew about Islam. There weren’t many converts. The mosque was empty, but nowadays jails are run mostly by the Muslims.

“There are certain brothers that convert purely on the basis that they read Islam and they want to believe in something that does good for them. Then other people because they want to be looked after.

“I’ve been in jail five times and on my last occasion, I’ve seen jails being run by Muslim inmates.”

According to the latest available official figures, Muslims represent 12 percent (9,795) of the prison population in England and Wales. This is an increase of almost 50 percent over five years.

The increase over the period 2003 to 2008, showing the number and percentage of the overall prison population of England and Wales that claims to be Muslim, is startling — as the Ministry of Justice’s official figures revealed:

2003: 6,136 (8%)

2004: 6,571 (9%)

2005: 7,246 (10%)

2006: 8,243 (11%)

2007: 8,864 (11%)

2008: 9,785 (12%)

More worrying still are the percentage of Muslim prisoners held in high security prisons, percentages said to be well above average.

In 2008, Muslim prisoners accounted for 34 percent of prisoners in HMP Whitemoor, in Cambridgeshire, and about 24 percent of inmates in HMP Long Lartin, in Worcestershire.

In another worrying development, a former prison officer who worked at HMP Long Lartin told a researcher about cases where non-Muslim prisoners were seriously assaulted and intimidated for refusing to abide by unofficial rules imposed by Muslim gangs, such as eating “unclean” pork or listening to “decadent” Western music.

The former prison officer said: “Muslim gangs was [sic] something I was very concerned about — the situation changed where underworld gangsters who used to keep discipline and order were no longer in charge in the prison.

“The younger guys, who were being forced to convert, were doing it more for protection from a Muslim gang rather than [to] follow the faith — most of them weren’t interested in the faith.

“I knew one lad quite well who was approached by the radical Muslims, and he changed. He just seemed very frightened all the time.

“He used to be forced to pray at certain times and I know for a fact they would be woken in the middle of the night to pray.

“He even grew a long beard even though he didn’t want to. I asked him why he grew the beard and he said, ‘It’s survival miss, survival’.”

Meanwhile the national chairman of the POA, the prison officers’ trade union, explained that not all imprisoned Muslims were in gangs, but confirmed there was a growing problem.

He also said: “People are being radicalised, forcibly radicalised by these gangs. We see it as a real danger, now and for the future of prisons.

“As the Muslim population grows, the gangs are becoming more and more prevalent by the week and they fight to take control of the drug trade and the dealing of mobile phones in prison.

“This will make our prisons even more violent.”
