Scarcely a week seems to pass without the Canary Wharf-based Financial Services Authority adding to the already weighty pile of evidence that it is not fit for purpose as Britain’s principal financial regulator.

Indeed, the FSA has started 2009 much as it conducted itself throughout 2008: with an extraordinary display of high handed indifference to public sentiment and gross failure to appreciate the real risks inherent in market mechanisms.

2009 was only five days old when the FSA posted a statement on its website under the rather arcane title “FSA proposes to extend short selling disclosure regime”. As with most of the FSA’s pronouncements, the title of this statement is utterly misleading.

The true significance of the announcement only becomes clear further down, almost as an incidental aside, with the statement that “In addition, the FSA proposes that the ban on the short selling of stocks in UK financial sector companies will expire on 16 January.” In other words, the FSA is delighted to announce that short-selling is back!

Short selling is the pernicious practice whereby speculators - typically hedge funds - borrow and then sell shares in the expectation of being able to buy them back later when their price has fallen. The speculators therefore make a profit when the share price declines. This form of betting on share price falls has been widely blamed as a major contributor to the worldwide financial crisis, which is why the FSA was originally forced to step in to suspend short selling of financial stocks in September 2008. Now that short-selling is poised to resume with the FSA’s blessing, we can surely expect to see a recurrence of the sort of rumour-driven speculative attacks on major banks which so disgraced the City of London last summer.

The FSA’s latest error of judgement in reinstating financial sector short selling is by no means an isolated mistake. Since its inception in Gordon Brown’s first year as Chancellor, the FSA’s institutional failure to understand market risk and prioritise its own work effectively has been its indelible hallmark. A financial regulator should be like a lion at the heart of the financial system, but the FSA has acted more like a skittish kitten, chasing in circles after every irrelevant mouse, but cowering away from the packs of city wolves that attacked longstanding British companies and defenceless consumers alike.

The FSA was happy to punish banks which scrupulously reported minor breaches of customer identification rules, but it seemed oblivious to clear-cut warning signs of the impending collapse of major institutions like Equitable Life and Northern Rock. Indeed, during 2008 the Parliamentary Ombudsman specifically accused the Financial Services Authority of maladministration in the final years leading up to Equitable Life’s collapse in 2000, when Gordon Brown was still Chancellor.

On a number of occasions, the FSA has gone out of its way to preserve the anonymity of firms involved in mis-selling activity, seemingly preferring to side with slippery spivs rather than their consumer victims. Perhaps this is not surprising in view of the composition of the FSA’s ruling Board, which is now chaired by former CBI Chairman, Baron Adair Turner of Ecchinswell and staffed entirely by financial industry placemen, with no significant consumer representation whatsoever.

Anyone who doubts that the Financial Services Authority has utterly failed to discharge its duties as financial regulator should consider the FSA’s four statutory objectives under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000:

maintaining market confidence;

promoting public understanding of the financial system;

securing the appropriate degree of protection for consumers; and

fighting financial crime.

Not even the most deluded inhabitant of Cloud Cuckoo Land could believe that any of these objectives has been advanced by the FSA over the past 12 years. In fact, market confidence has evaporated, public understanding of the financial system has faded, consumers have been ignored and left unprotected and, by common consent, financial crime is rampant.

Surely the British public is entitled to expect that the regulatory body tasked with these objectives should be held to account for the self-evident failure to achieve any of them? It is now time for a new stringent rules-based system of financial regulation, with the Bank of England at its heart. The FSA is just another piece of residual New Labour flotsam which, like New Labour itself, deserves to be swept away on a tide of righteous public anger.

Sunday, January 4th, saw members and supporters from Somerset and the Mid-West hold their first meeting of 2009 in the city of Wells.

Guest speakers were Salisbury organiser Mr Mike Chant, followed by BNP National Treasurer Ms Jennifer Noble.

Ably chaired by North Somerset contact and Euro election candidate, Mr Perry Parsons, the meeting kicked off with Mr Chant’s interesting talk on his role as Salisbury organiser.

He explained how Salisbury BNP has grown very quickly in a short time. This was, he said, due to the hard work his team of activists have put into building the party in South Wiltshire.

After an excellent buffet and music (from the best known British military bands) Mr Parsons introduced Ms Noble. She spoke about her role as national treasurer and gave a detailed account of her responsibilities.

Ms Noble also gave an indication of the financial implications of fighting the upcoming elections, and of how she and her finance team work long hours to make it all possible.

She told the audience of her experiences when she lived in Birmingham, and of how members of her family fought in the great wars to defend our nation and freedom. Finishing off with a rousing call on all present to defend and cherish our way of life, Ms Noble’s speech was met with a well-deserved round of applause.

The substantial collection was given a welcome boost with the auctioning of a framed picture designed by organiser Andy Bamford. Finally a very successful raffle was held to finish off the first of this year’s BNP activities in one of Britain’s most beautiful regions.

While 1.8 million immigrants have moved to London from abroad over the last decade, native indigenous Brits have fled their capital city, making London the area with the largest internal migration of any area in the UK.

Research released by the Bank of Scotland showed that between 1998 and 2007 nearly 2 million people moved out of the capital to other parts of Britain, while 1.6 million moved to it - mostly from overseas.

This 2 million was equivalent to more than a quarter (26 percent) of the city’s population in 2007.

London was the only region of the UK to experience a net population loss, which was 344,558. However, the capital’s population was boosted over the 10 years to 2007 by what the bank called “international immigration.”

The South East of England was the most popular region for people to move to from elsewhere in the UK, leading to a net increase of 550,889.

More than 2.2 million people moved to the area, while almost 1.7 million left.

The South West recorded the second highest level of net internal migration, gaining 514,511 people. Northern Ireland gained 10,681 residents through internal migration.

The North East and North West were the only UK regions to see an overall decline in their population, losing 26,000 and 27,000 respectively.

Internal migration has boosted Scotland’s population by 157,757. Between 1998 and 2007 the report showed that 542,524 people moved to Scotland from other regions of the UK, while only 384,767 left.

The report was based on data sourced from the 2008 Population Trends provided by the Office of National Statistics.

Failed asylum seekers who resort to violence and aggression to avoid being deported are costing the taxpayer £4 million a year.

In the past three years 3,638 people who were due to be deported managed to temporarily stay in the country because they became so disruptive that officials declared it unsafe to carry on with the expulsions.

Figures released by the National Audit Office show the cost of a forced removal is around £11,000 per person, depending on where they are sent.

When a deportation is stopped due to a failed asylum seeker’s violent behaviour, much of that cost has already been incurred. But officials admit that around 10 percent of the total is taken up with the final expulsion.

The statistics show that some people get so violent at their holding centre that it is deemed unsafe to move them, while others have to be hauled off planes at the last moment because pilots are concerned about the safety of passengers due to the asylum seeker’s behaviour.

Human Rights legislation means that UK Border Agency staff can only use approved restraint methods, and any attempt to drug the asylum seeker would be deemed unlawful. Putting the person in handcuffs is seen as a “last resort.”

Over the past four years the numbers of forced repatriations of failed asylum seekers that have had to be aborted has been about 20 every week.

Susie Squire, campaign manager at the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “These botched deportations are costing an outrageous amount of taxpayers’ money.”

A British National Party government would solve the problem by simply putting an end to the handout system for ‘asylum seekers.’

The asylum seeker problem will vanish once the system (which rewards these law-breakers by giving them benefits and free housing) is removed.

Voters should always bear in mind that the asylum racket has been created by successive Tory and Labour governments, and not by Labour alone.

Zainab Bibi, who is 7ft 2in, invaded Britain two-and-a-half years ago and has spent much of the time since on benefits. She has been able to send money home to her family while Home Office investigators examine her application for political asylum.

Now it appears that her asylum appeal has been granted because she claims that her height has “made her a target at home.”

Miss Zainab, 35, a former holder of the ‘world’s tallest woman’ title, said when she lodged her claim that she was afraid to return to Pakistan because youths had thrown stones at her, pulled at her clothing and she once broke her wrist when attacked.

Officials are expected to recommend that she should be allowed to remain in Britain.

Back in the impoverished, Punjabi village of Mandi Rajana where she was born, her family, friends and police suggest that far from being a victim, her international recognition meant she enjoyed celebrity status whenever she returned home.

Her widowed mother Iqbal Bibi, 72, kissed her picture and said: “She is safe here but if she is happy in England — and the people are very kind to her, she says — then her happiness is our happiness.”

The deputy superintendent of police, Aslam Shankar, said he would guarantee Miss Zainab’s safety if she returned. “She is a big shot now in Pakistan and I would offer her the protection her position merits.”

It was after a 15-day trip to Britain carrying out promotional work in June 2006 that Miss Zainab, who had a two-year visitor’s visa, lodged her asylum claim and was given a council flat in Stockport, together with £40 a week in benefits.

Her request to stay took family and friends by surprise because in recent years she had used her height to earn money, making dozens of public appearances in her own country and abroad.

In Mandi Rajana, family friend Ghulam Mustafa said: “She was teased when she was younger but it has been no problem for at least eight years. She is safe if she returns but life is very hard here. It is nothing like England, which is more comfortable.”

Miss Zainab, who has moved to a house in Manchester, speaks little English. Through an interpreter, she said she believed her application would be successful and added that she was living in a free house with free medical treatment and a ‘generous’ allowance.

Ben Williams, 35, of Norris Green, Liverpool, was caught with 10 images of girls aged under 18 on his home computer, that city’s Crown Court was told.

The teacher at King George V College in Southport, Merseyside, was reported to police when he left a trail on a school computer.

He denies 10 counts of making and possessing indecent images of children.

The court was told that Mr Williams was an ex-councillor who sat on Liverpool City Council’s children’s services committee.

Peter Davies, prosecuting, said that in October 2006 a check at King George V College found Mr Williams searching the internet for child pornography sites.

He was suspended but wrote a defensive email to the headteacher and told police he was conducting research and was “genuinely concerned” about ease of access to the internet for his pupils.

He said the searches were in response to a speech made by Conservative leader David Cameron about internet dangers. But, said Mr Davies, Mr Williams had told no one about his research nor had he asked for permission to look at the sites.

The jury heard that police searched computers he used at work, at the council’s headquarters and at Mr Williams’ father’s home. It was only the computer at the home that contained the images.

Continued mass immigration will cause severe ‘threats to national security’ and the exhaustion of natural resources, according to the Optimum Population Trust.

In a memorandum recently sent to Government ministers, the Optimum Population Trust (OPT) has advised that Britain “must set population limits to safeguard national security.”

The OPT has called for a policy of “zero net migration” meaning that numbers entering the UK should match the numbers leaving.

British National Party policy is that Britain is a “zero immigration” country, meaning that no further immigration would be allowed.

The UK’s population is projected to increase from 60 to 70 million over the next 20 years, and to 85 million by 2081, according to the OPT.

Pointing out the dangerous effect of mass immigration on the environment, the OPT report said it “feeds through into rising greenhouse gas emissions and more congestion.”

Furthermore, the OPT has warned that because Britain can produce only 30 percent of the food, energy and other goods that it needs, it will become increasingly vulnerable to “resource nationalism” as foreign powers hoard their own scarce resources.

“This imperils future national security as well as destroying the environment,” it said.

* Simultaneously, some of the Government’s own MPs, worried about the rising support for the BNP, have blown the whistle on the Government’s alleged ‘crackdown’ on immigration.

The announcement, made by the “cross-party group” which consists of arch traitors Frank Fields (Labour) and Nicholas Soames (Tory) has called for action to “defuse the ticking time bomb.”

While it is clear that they are actually only motivated by their parties’ loss of support to the BNP, the Laurel and Hardy pair have said that claims by the Government that they are cracking down on immigration are a “gigantic bluff.”

“They will do nothing to stop Britain’s population growing to levels with which the country cannot cope.”

The population is firmly on course to grow to 70 million from today’s 61 million by 2028, according to research by Migrationwatch UK.

Some 70 percent of the growth, the equivalent of seven cities the size of Birmingham, will be due to immigration.

The money is used by hospitals and GP surgeries to translate and interpret dozens of languages including Urdu, Arabic, Sylheti, Bengali, Polish and Spanish.

The money could, of course, be far better used to treat British people, who have provided the public funding in the first place.

A spokesman for the TaxPayers’ Alliance said: “At a time when the NHS is not giving ordinary taxpayers access to doctors’ appointments and access to the right drugs to treat their ailments this is a disproportionate allocation of precious funding.”

The worst offender was Manchester Primary Care Trust which spent £1.3 million, while Heart of Birmingham PCT spent £1.2 million. Pennine Acute Hospitals forked out £1 million.

The Health Service translates its services into 160 languages. Some, such as Akan and Cherokee, do not have a single registered speaker in the UK.

A spokesman for the Department of Health said: “NHS trusts have a duty to produce a race equality scheme under the Race Relations Act 1976 (Statutory Duties) Order 2001.

“That scheme must contain, among other things, arrangements for ensuring public access to information and the trust’s services.”

We have said nothing, quite simply, because it’s nothing to do with Britain, and therefore nothing to do with the British National Party. That is the simple answer to the number of newer readers who have emailed recently to ask why this website has said nothing about the current number one international news topic - Israel’s targeted but massive air and ground response to indiscriminate but relatively feeble Hamas missile strikes on Israeli civilians.

The fighting in Gaza is not a proper concern for a British political party - especially at a time when the Bankers’ Bust threatens the livelihoods of millions and what little remains of the social cohesion of our own country. One of the core tenets of our nationalist philosophy is that Britain should keep completely out of other people’s quarrels and wars unless there are clear issues of our own national interest to give us the right, and our government the duty, to interfere.

Beyond that, as nationalists and not imperialists, we recognise the right of every other people under the sun to seek to secure self-determination on a patch of earth that is their historic and spiritual homeland, and the duty of every government of such a nation-state to protect its citizens from terrorism or oppression.

That includes both the Israelis and the Palestinians, but while we instinctively would suggest that a land-for-peace, two-state solution is the most likely way to square their very differing ambitions, in the end it is entirely up to them whether they make peace or continue fighting from now until Judgement Day. It really isn’t any of our business.

A superficially logical argument has been made by several of our readers to the effect that the endless television coverage of dead or injured Palestinian children (the anti-Israeli bias of the leftist BBC is particularly marked) will inflame Islamist extremists against not only Israel but also against other Western states, including the UK and our soldiers currently stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The reality, however, is not only that our troops should not be there in any case (and never should have been, for thy are two patches of howling desert that have nothing to do with Britain) but that Islamist ‘extremists’ need no ‘inflaming’. The massively influential Wahhabi and Deobandi sects behind most Sunni ‘extremism’ were alive and kicking, against the West in general and Britain in particular, decades or indeed a century before the state of Israel came into existence.

Indeed, the destruction of Israel (which is the generally stated aim of all the far-left and Muslim demonstrators screaming and on occasion rioting outside the Israeli Embassy in London, and the generally unstated aim of the far smaller number of neo-Nazi cranks siding with them on the Internet) would most definitely not placate a single hardline Muslim.

One of the fundamental lessons of the West’s long and at times desperate defence against Islam’s institutionalised aggression, sexual predation and imperialism, is that every victory for Islamic fighters reinforces the hysterical certainty in the word of the Prophet and in Islam’s self-proclaimed destiny to conquer the entire world.

The destruction of Israel would not send Islam back into a peaceful slumber, but would merely inspire and radicalise a whole new generation of Jihadist fanatics with the idea that the hour of their final triumph against the ‘Crusaders’ had been signalled by the collapse of the latter’s ‘Zionist outpost’ on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean. This would lead as a direct and immediate consequence to:

1) Renewed acts of ethno-religious cleansing against the non-Muslim remnants of the earlier populations of the Dar al Islam (lands which have already submitted to Allah);

2) A fresh confidence in the plan to re-partition India and establish a contiguous ‘Moghulstan’ taking in Pakistan, the Kashmir, huge swathes of northern India and Bangladesh;

3) A stepping up of the pressure through demographics and violence to reconquer further swathes of the Balkans and the southern edges of Russia;

4) Even more strenuous efforts to hasten the conquest - by demography, immigration, conversion, subversion and, when the time is right, force - of Western Europe and, a generation or so later, North America.

While Israel’s no-holds barred self-defence undoubtedly gives Islamist recruiters good material with which to radicalise some of their less motivated brethren, Israel’s extinction would provide them with even stronger arguments in favour of Jihad. The most elementary study of their rhetoric shows that they do not regard Israel as the great enemy, merely as the catspaw of Christendom. They may be right or they may be wrong, but that is what they believe; the destruction of Israel would therefore make them even bolder and more aggressive. Thus while we would oppose any move to entangle Britain in war on behalf of Israel, it is in our clear national interest that it should survive.

Whether that survival is made any more or less likely by responding on such a scale to the cynical provocations by Hamas is another matter, but that judgement is for Israelis to make at the ballot box, and not for us.

Westerners should concentrate on the key matter that concerns us. Our people must understand that Islam is not a mutated version of Christianity with a pacifist core in which the Meek will inherit the earth; it’s a creed of War and the Sword. It is inflamed by victory, and encouraged by successive advances. Once they start fighting, the only thing its followers understand is defeat. The centuries in which Islam has slumbered have all followed massive defeats which shattered the conceit that its date with Destiny and world domination was just around the corner.

Tours, Lepanto, Vienna, and even in its lesser way Omdurman, all show that Islam defeated is Islam tamed. The burning of the ancient Library of Alexandria, the obliteration of Christian North Africa, the Islamist genocides in India, the destruction of Byzantium, the repeated rape of the Balkans, the ceaseless efforts to take Europe - all show that when Islam takes a foot it wants a hundred miles.

That is the nature of the great Beast of our times. It can be defeated and put back to sleep. Its modern prestige and especially the power of the Sunni and Shi-ite fundamentalists in Saudi Arabia and Iran is based on one thing. It certainly isn’t military prowess, as the American, British and Israeli machines have all shown over and over again. Nor is it about guerrilla warfare successes of the kind seen in Afghanistan and Lebanon, which may yet emerge in Gaza.

The real motor of Jihad is oil money. The move to a post-oil world will be difficult even for the West, but once it is properly underway the resulting crash in the income of the fundamentalist paymasters of Islamic expansionism and terror will force them to stop worrying about conquering the world and to concentrate on looking after their own people or risk ending up riddled with bullets.

It can’t happen too soon, and developing the technologies and economic model needed to wean ourselves off oil, and the perpetual growth superstition it has fostered, is the very best way to deal with the instability of a Middle East that should have nothing to do with us. In the meantime, we will go back to ignoring Gaza and concentrate on the things that matter to our people.

Anjem Choudary, chief judge of the ‘Shari’ah Court of the UK,’ has announced that “when Islam takes over the UK,” Southall will be made the new capital city.

Southall is one of the most ethnically cleansed areas of London, where, according to the 2000 census, only 12 percent of the population is indigenous white British. Even that figure is likely to have dropped in the last eight years.

Choudary said the west London suburb should be the centre of Islamic power at a New Year meeting of his supporters, who cheered his every word as he called for Muslims to “rise up” and seize power in Britain.

“We will rise up. We will rise up, my dear Muslims. One day we will have the Sharia here. And who knows, maybe even Southall can be the capital of the Islamic state when we conquer it.”

Choudhary is a Muslim lawyer who was chairman of the Society of Muslim Lawyers, an Islamist and is best known as a follower of Omar Bakri Mohammed, who was deported from this country.

Choudary has urged Muslims to not cooperate with the police in fighting terrorism, and has called for the assassination of the Pope. He is also ‘Judge of the Shari’ah Court of the UK,’ a position formerly held by Bakri.

In a BBC interview Choudary was asked why he would not say with Omar Bakri Mohammed, “I condemn the killing of innocent people.” Choudary replied “At the end of the day, when we say “innocent people” we mean “Muslims.” As far as non-Muslims are concerned, they have not accepted Islam. As far as we are concerned, that is a crime against God.”

Speaking at a conference on September 11th, 2008 in London, Choudary, referring to the high birth rate of Muslims, stated that “It may be by pure conversion that Britain will become an Islamic state. We may never need to conquer it from the outside.”

He also stated that “We do not integrate into Christianity. We will ensure that one day you will integrate into the Sharia Islamic law.”

In December 2008, Choudary publicly praised the Mumbai attacks in India by Islamic Extremists and stated that Muslims should reject Christmas as it is forbidden by Allah.

The Daily Telegraph quoted him as saying: “Every Muslim has a responsibility to protect his family from the misguidance of Christmas, because its observance will lead to hellfire. Protect your Paradise from being taken away — protect yourself and your family from Christmas.”

France’s second and third generation immigrant community celebrated the New Year with a 30 percent increase in car arsons in major centres in that country, according to figures from the French Interior Ministry.

The official count is that some 1,147 cars went up in smoke on New Year’s Eve, a 30 percent rise on the 879 cars torched the same night in 2007.

The worst-hit areas were, as described by the controlled media, “the disadvantaged neighbourhoods that sit beyond the suburban peripheries of most French cities” — in other words, the immigrant dominated areas.

The immigrant violence was reported on in some American, Australian and New Zealand newspapers — but was completely blacked out and ignored by the BBC and other British “news” outlets.

The French Interior Ministry said police had arrested 288 people during the night, up from 259 last year. The government mobilized 35,000 police officers on New Year’s Eve, about 7,000 more than last year. French officials also were on heightened alert after five sticks of dynamite were left in a Paris department store just before Christmas by someone who demanded the withdrawal of French troops from Afghanistan.

It was in the “banlieu” neighbourhoods around Paris that the unrest of November and December 2005 was started after an immigrant youth fleeing a crime scene was accidentally electrocuted. In response, the immigrant community started with its usual cry of blaming whites for all their ills, and quickly turned to rioting and destruction as a way of showing their “dissatisfaction.”

Car arson is now the preferred method of attack used by these alien invaders. French statistics show that a total of 36,700 cars were burned in France in the first eleven months of 2008.

Other cities whose unemployment-racked, immigrant-swamped banlieues also lived up to their reputations for frequent car-burning included Strasbourg, Lille, Toulouse and Nantes.

Nearly 43,000 cars were torched in France over the whole of 2007 — an average of almost 118 per day.

* From Sweden comes the news that police in the immigrant-swamped Malmö suburb of Rosengård — where recent immigrant invader unrest flared after a mosque was closed — have been forced to hire private security to help with the surveillance and protection of their police station.

A document, released under the freedom of information act, has shown that the liver transplant operations, which took place at NHS hospitals, took place despite severe organ shortages that mean many British patients could die whilst waiting for an organ.

The document showed that 40 patients from EU countries Greece and Cyprus received liver transplant operations in the UK which were paid for by their governments. Livers were also given to people from outside the EU, including patients from Libya, the United Arab Emirates, China and Israel.

The private operations cost £75,000 and the surgeons who carried out the operations received about £20,000 as a share of the operation fee.

At the current time, a record 8,000 British patients are awaiting organs on the NHS transplant waiting list and around 269 Britons are waiting for livers.

Professor Peter Friend, President of the British Transplantation Society, condemned the practice:

“While there is a surfeit of UK residents awaiting transplant it is correct that these patients should have priority,” he said. “Were the situation such that there were organs that were not required, it would be appropriate to make them available to other nationals.

“We do not have a European organ donation system; it is a UK system and I therefore feel that . . . the system is there essentially for the benefit of residents in the UK.”

Jane Dodd, whose nine-year-old daughter died whilst waiting for a liver transplant operation, said that she was shocked and upset to hear that the organs of British donors were being sold to foreign patients:

“I do feel that organs donated in this country should go to people from this country unless there isn’t a suitable recipient.

“If you are signing a donor card in this country you expect someone from this country to get the organ.”

According to EU law, all patients from member states have the right to seek treatment in all EU countries. Britain is not, however, obliged to treat them and the decision is left to the hospital trusts themselves. If the trust decides to treat the patient, then they have equal rights to British organs.

The Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust in London has carried out four liver transplant operations for foreigners in the last year whilst King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London gave 19 organs to foreign patients last year. A spokesman for King’s College defended its actions:

“We are continuing to treat citizens of the European Union as they have the same entitlement to treatment under the NHS as UK patients under European law.”

Dr Mervyn Davies or St. James’s University Hospital in Leeds, which does not give transplants to foreign patients, also condemned the practice:

”There is a shortage of donors and we cannot cater for the whole of the EU.

“It is tragic for these patients but the system that we have cannot cope with the UK demand as it is. Extending that to the whole of the EU and beyond we consider is inappropriate.”

BNP News recently praised the Irish Independent newspaper’s Kevin Myers for his brave and honest reporting of the disastrous effects of mass immigration on the UK. But perhaps to redress the balance, the British Independent today saw fit to publish an astonishing anti-white polemic by journalist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown. A hate-filled diatribe that, if the author had have been white, would probably see them facing a seven-year prison stretch for inciting racial hatred.

Brown, a Ugandan born Muslim who came to the UK in 1972, was commenting on the recent Government report that the British white working class feel betrayed and abandoned. Brown lays her cards on the table at the outset of the article: “Maybe it’s because I’m a foreigner that I rage so when witnessing attacks on immigrants. Something stirs deep inside, not bloodlines, not tribal kinships, not even the politics of race, but a wakeful sense of history and lived experience.”

Yet Brown declares that native Britons do not have the same right to experience the same sense of “history and lived experience” in their own homeland, stating that the British working class “have turned against incomers as self pity overwhelms them.”

Addressing the Government report, Brown dismisses the concerns of the indigenous Britons and astonishingly claims that immigrant concerns are sidelined: “Ruined by “ethnic minorities” they cry into their antimacassars and threaten to vote for fascists. The British working classes include people of every shade. But only white grievances matter. Nobody seeks to find out what life is like for the incomers living in the fog of nativist bitterness.”

Brown continues: “Parliamentarians, the media, even the people who claim to speak for immigrants - such as Baroness Warsi and Trevor Phillips - are flocking to indulge the always-wretched and complaining classes. And so it becomes a matter of honour for me to oppose them.

“We are thankfully free to question Muslim, Asian, Arab, African, Caribbean, Polish, Lithuanian, Russian behaviour in Britain. And some behave abominably. The British middle and upper classes are rightly fair game. But not the white working classes.

“Criticise them and they, who detest PC, bring down the wrath of Alf Garnett on your head. Their culture is proud; they are noble; what they believe - however stupid or vicious - must be awesome. Oh, and they are never to be called racist, not even the scum who drop shit and firebombs through letter boxes of asylum-seekers on estates.”

Brown then praises the words of a white journalist who takes her side on the worthlessness of the native Britons: “One writer, Liz Jones, of white working-class stock, sees through the cultural protectionism. Responding to beer-swilling blokes in Wibsey Working Men’s Club, in Bradford, who said on television that they had lost their place as the backbone of the nation because Asians were overtaking them, she wrote: “A snail with special needs would overtake this lot …”

Warming to her theme, Brown then really let’s the hatred flow. “Defenders of this faith claim they are never allowed to speak on immigration. They have done little else since the first boats sailed in from the Caribbean. Whenever times were hard, immigrants were the natural scapegoats. At boom times, they were brutally envied: too rich, too hardworking, taking jobs and gals from British men, or scroungers on benefits.

“You couldn’t win then; even less so today. Working-class white men provoked race riots through the Fifties and Sixties; they kept “darkies” out of pubs and clubs and work canteens. Who were the supporters of Oswald Mosley and Enoch Powell? The disempowered have used us to vent their natural-born hatred against the powerful.”

She finishes her incredible rant by once again looking at the whole issue from her bias as an immigrant:

“Britain is a more integrated place than was in the Sixties, and many of us would not live elsewhere.

“Like others who came to stay, I hope one day we can truly belong, our rights and responsibilities no different from those who arrived and laid claims long before us on these mongrel, oft-invaded isles. Perhaps there will be brief respite when Britain will not blame the outsider for all its woes. Alas not yet, certainly not over this hard and cold coming year.”

As with the rest of the article, no credence is given to the rights of indigenous Britons to have predominance in their historical homeland, in the same way as those of Brown’s political bent champion the same rights for black South Africans and Tibetans.

And the usual erroneous and racist mantra that Great Britain is a “mongrel” nation is brought into play. Three-quarters of indigenous Britons can trace their ancestry in these lands back to the end of the last Ice Age, some 15,000 years ago. So please excuse us, Mrs. Brown, if the opinions on our people by a hate-filled bigot with a history in this country stretching back a whopping 37 years are not taken seriously.

But what we will take seriously are the many new enquiries and members that your comments will bring us. And we will give these people a voice and address their real concerns and give them back their sense of pride and belonging.

Spying rules which allow the state to secretly monitor anyone’s computer hard drives from remote locations have been adopted by the British Government in line with a law made by the European Union’s council of ministers in Brussels.

The new plan allows the democratic Gestapo police to hack into people’s personal computers without a warrant, as outlined by the EU’s guidelines.

The hacking is known as “remote searching.” It allows police or MI5 officers who may be hundreds of miles away to examine covertly the hard drive of someone’s PC.

Material gathered in this way includes the content of all e-mails, web-browsing habits and instant messaging.

Under the Brussels edict, police across the EU have been given the green light to expand the implementation of a rarely used power involving warrantless intrusive surveillance of private property.

The strategy will allow French, German and other EU forces to ask British officers to hack into someone’s UK computer and pass over any material gleaned.

A remote search can be granted if a senior officer says he “believes” that it is “proportionate” and necessary to prevent or detect serious crime - defined as any offence attracting a jail sentence of more than three years.

Civil liberty groups have warned that such intrusive surveillance powers should be regulated by a new act of parliament and court warrants.

In contrast to the legal safeguards for searching a suspect’s home, police undertaking a remote search do not need to apply to a magistrates’ court for a warrant.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) said such intrusive surveillance was closely regulated under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. A spokesman said police were already carrying out a small number of these operations which were among 194 clandestine searches last year of people’s homes, offices and hotel bedrooms.

“To be a valid authorisation, the officer giving it must believe that when it is given it is necessary to prevent or detect serious crime and [the] action is proportionate to what it seeks to achieve,” ACPO said.

Dominic Grieve, the Tory shadow home secretary, agreed that the development may benefit law enforcement.

The Home Office said it was working with other EU states to develop details of the proposals.

A leading Anglo-Irish journalist who writes in the Irish Independent (voted Ireland’s Newspaper of the Year) has warned that Britain has been colonised and Ireland will follow suit.

Kevin Myers, a regular contributor to that paper and sometimes correspondent for many other national papers, wrote in an article published on January 2 this year that “(H)uge areas of Britain have become foreign colonies. That could be tomorrow’s Ireland, too.”

According to Mr Myers, “(P)eople in Britain and Ireland have taken a secret, Self-Denying Ordinance not to discuss immigration or race in any meaningful way.

“What most struck me while watching BBC television news reports of the Christmas sales in the West End of London, was firstly obvious, and secondly, it was something that no one with the BBC would ever have remarked on. It was this. The shoppers — and there were thousands of them — were overwhelmingly of Asian or African origin. In the vast throngs of faces, there was barely a Caucasian face to be seen; and when there was, of course, that was no guarantee that it was British.”

Mr Myers could have been referring to BNP News coverage of the same event, but he went on to say that “Actually, I didn’t need to see those TV pictures of the London Boxing Day sales to be aware that London has undergone a demographic transplant unlike that experienced by any European capital since the Fall of Constantinople in 1483. A couple of years ago, while on a trip to London, I bought a rover-ticket, which gave me unlimited travel on the public transport system. I wandered for miles upon miles through the east end, which bore the blitz in 1940-41, which is the heart of Cockney culture, with the Pearly Kings and Queens and which is, of course, the setting for the television soap.

“But in Whitechapel or Stepney, to judge from the shops and the faces and the clothes and the people around me, I could have been in a Middle Eastern city. What does ‘England’ mean to these people? Do they know about the months that an earlier generation spent in the air-raid shelters? Do they know about the 40,000 Londoners who perished in the winter of 1940-41? Do they know anything about the history of the streets they now occupy, and could they ever be prevailed upon to care about it?

“These areas were once home to the large Jewish population of London, who have since moved on, as did the Huguenots before them, and the Flemings before them. Like all great cities, London has always attracted immigrants, who have generally become assimilated into the population around them.

“The immigration policies of recent British governments — though ‘non-policies’ would be a more accurate description of that mixture of cowardice, political timidity, abject conformism and flatulent piety that has underlain the British approach to this matter — have now inverted the pyramid.

“Huge areas of Britain have become foreign colonies, which demographically and culturally dominate the native populations. This is not the much-cherished melting-pot of liberal ideologists: it is more like the race movements into Australia and the Americas from Europe, with the Aboriginals nearly as helpless as the wretched natives of those former colonies.

“This time, it’s a voluntary helplessness. People in Britain (and now Ireland) apparently have taken a secret, Self-Denying Ordinance not to discuss immigration or race in any meaningful way. The silence surrounding one most obvious transformation, that of Britain’s Premier League, is one symptom of this. Perhaps a majority of players in any good English team will be of at least part-African origin.

“This is surely worth commenting on, for many reasons, not the least of them being the rapid disappearance of role models for white working-class boys; but around this issue, there is nothing but a prickly silence. So that when Michel Platini wondered about the relationship between: (a) some hypothetical Liverpool team of the future consisting entirely of Africans, and managed by a Brazilian, and (b) the traditional Merseyside community, he was roundly denounced by the soccer correspondent of the Daily Telegraph — no less — for his implicit racism.

“So is it better to say absolutely nothing when rapid racial changes occur in a society, in the hope that harmony will result? For maybe, simple discretion is better than noisy dissension, and a dutiful and prudent media silence on this topic actually furthers the process of peaceful assimilation.

“Well, firstly, that begs the question about whether a peaceful assimilation is either possible, or is even being sought, by many of the immigrants to Britain.

“And secondly, what damage is meanwhile being done to the credibility of the media? If journalists can tacitly agree to stay mute in the face of such clearly visible phenomena, who can then believe them on other, less obvious issues?

“Is this of any interest to Ireland? Well, yes, not least because what happens in Britain today is what will usually happen in Ireland tomorrow; and of course, the two islands share a common-travel area, in which lawful residence in one jurisdiction conveys an equal right to dwell in the other.

“Now, I have long since lost any belief in the courage of the Irish media to tackle the issue of immigration, other than by showing cheery pictures of Nigerian children in hurling helmets (usually captioned, ‘The New Irish’), and by intoning the usual ritualistic pieties from within the comfort zone of the left-liberal consensus created by our journalism schools.

“Listen: it is easier and cheaper to get from London to Dublin than to get to Liverpool or Newcastle. The shots on the BBC news from Boxing Day 2008 are just possibly merely a foretaste of RTE News on St Stephen’s Day in 2018. So when the change comes, it’ll be so fast, that you won’t even know that it’s happening: and then, it becomes an irreversible fact. Just don’t say no one warned you: because, I did.” — Kevin Myers

The second EU job centre in Africa has been opened in the West African state of Cape Verde. The ‘job centres’ are part of an EU plan to facilitate the swamping of Europe by more than 50 million Africans by the year 2050.

Despite rising unemployment in most European nations, the criminals running the EU have decided that the continent needs at least another 50 million Africans for “work.”

The Cape Verde job centre is the second phase of a taxpayer-funded initiative by Brussels. The first such ‘job centre’ opened in the African state of Mali in October last year.

The latest job centre, in Cape Verde’s capital city of Praia, is designed to be part of the EU’s plan to help Africans find work legally in Europe.

The centre will provide details of job opportunities in EU states, including Britain, and provide training and support for potential migrants.

It is being heralded as a “pilot scheme” by EU officials for other job centres across Africa.

Matthew Elliott, of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “As people all over Britain and Europe face redundancy and unemployment as the recession bites, it is ludicrous that the EU is frittering away taxpayers’ money on such inappropriate schemes.”

The project is part of EU Commissioner Louis Michel’s master plan for the “mobility” of workers between African states and Europe.

* Predictions are that at least 400,000 Brits will lose their jobs in the coming year, and that levels of unemployment will rise to their highest levels since World War II. Despite all these economic indicators, the EU still wants to import millions more Africans, who come from countries whose populations have proven themselves incapable of economic growth.

Citing “national security” and “immigration” reasons, Australia has formally rejected an American request to grant asylum to inmates of the Guantanamo Bay concentration camp.

This decision is in contrast to the British government, which has said that it would consider US resettlement requests on a case by case basis.

The Netherlands has also ruled out accepting any newly freed inmates, while Portugal and Germany have indicated that they might do so.

“The request received in December 2008 has been denied,” acting Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard said. The Australian government had advised President George W Bush’s administration that it would not assist in resettling some 60 “war on terror” detainees.

“Assessing those requests from a case by case basis, they had not met our stringent national security and immigration criteria and have been rejected,” Ms Gillard said. It was the second time Australia has denied such a request from Washington, after rebuffing an initial approach in early 2008.

US president-elect Barack Obama has vowed once in office to close the Camp Delta facility, which currently houses 250 inmates held without charge or trial, in violation of the American constitution. For that reason, the Bush regime, with the active support of the British government and its other “allies” has kept the concentration camp in Guantanamo Bay. As it is located in an American outpost on Cuba, it is outside US legal jurisdiction.

While Australia was open to future requests from the Obama administration, Ms Gillard warned the same rigorous scrutiny and “very tough character assessments” would apply.

Ms Gillard, acting leader while Prime Minister Kevin Rudd takes a holiday, denied Australia’s stance put it at loggerheads with the incoming Obama administration. She also refused to comment on whether, as a key US ally in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Australia had a moral obligation to accept Guantanamo’s prisoners.

“We, for the future, will assess on a case by case basis, but we will always assess against our stringent national security criteria, and our stringent immigration criteria,” she responded. “The decisions we make will be against those criteria and they’ll always be in the best interests of this country.”

Recently, a former US military prosecutor Lieutenant-Colonel Darrel Vandeveld said the tribunals used to try suspects at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp were defective, immoral and “sullied” the US constitution. Vandeveld noted that the way detainees were treated at the camp in Cuba was “appalling, wrong, unethical and finally, immoral.”

“I was convinced… that it was impossible to guarantee that they would get a fair trial,” he noted.

Also recently, US rights group the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said it has filed a legal action to end US censorship of testimony by prisoners at Guantanamo Bay about torture at the hands of US officials. “It cannot be the case that a government can torture people and by virtue of having exposed them to torture techniques, cut off their communication with the world,” said Ben Wizner, staff attorney with the ACLU National Security Project.

The US government has come under scathing criticism for allowing interrogation techniques that at best border on torture to be used on terrorist suspects detained indefinitely at US prisons in Guantanamo and Iraq.

Experts say torture not only produces false information (usually in the form of untrue confessions) but it is also counterproductive as it is seen as a main cause behind increased insurgencies in Iraq.

British newspapers have censored the rise in popularity of the child’s name ‘Muhammed’ after announcing it publicly the previous year, out of a fear of alerting the public to the fact of the continuing Islamification of Britain, said Nick Griffin, leader of the BNP.

“At the end of 2007, almost every major newspaper carried the story that the name Muhammed, or variants thereof, had become the second most popular name for children in Britain,” Mr Griffin said.

“At the time, many papers, such as the Tory-supporting Daily Telegraph, triumphantly predicted that the name ‘Muhammed’ would take first place as the most popular boy’s name in Britain during 2008.

“The Telegraph — and all other media — have just released their reports on the most popular children’s names for 2008. Incredibly, the name ‘Muhammed’ has completely vanished from all the lists, and not one Muslim name appears anywhere.”

According to all the newspapers, Jack was the most popular name for a boy in 2008. “The Daily Telegraph, in its online version, has even gone so far as not to link to its 2007 story in which it predicted the rise of the name Muhammed,” continued Mr Griffin.

“Instead, it links to the 2006 and 2005 stories, blatantly ignoring the 2007 story, which ironically remains in its website.”

The Muslim birth rate is at least three times higher than for non-Muslims. The name ‘Muhammed’ entered the Top 30 names in 2000, reached Number 17 in 2006, and was the number two spot in 2007. Now, according to the official figures, it is gone.

“The reason for this is clear,” Mr Griffin said. “The powers-that-be do not want to alert the public to the fact that Britain is steadily being Islamified, and have issued their own fatwa on reporting on this process for fear of alerting the public.

“Fortunately, the power of the Internet allows the BNP to circumvent this censorship, and the media, who read the BNP’s website daily, can be assured that their attempts to hoodwink the public will be in vain,” Mr Griffin concluded.

Compare the following:

The Times reports that ‘Muhammed’ is the second most popular boys’ name in 2007.

The madness of the Tory-backed Labour war in Afghanistan has once again been revealed with the news that British soldiers have killed Muslims born in Britain who were fighting alongside the Taliban.

Military intelligence reports suggest that a small number of UK nationals are among the range of foreign fighters who regularly clash with British troops in Afghanistan.

The revelation comes amid growing concern among British military and intelligence officials about militants based in Pakistan launching attacks on British interests in Afghanistan and at home.

Foreign fighters enter Afghanistan from Pakistan’s lawless border areas, home to the reconstituted al-Qaeda leadership. British commanders in Helmand say that they have intelligence suggesting that Muslims born in the UK are among the enemies they face.

“We’re talking about ones and twos at a time,” said one officer. “It’s not big numbers, but they are there, definitely.”

A security source highlighted the case of Rashid Rauf, the Birmingham man wanted by British police in connection with a 2006 plot to bomb transatlantic airliners.

Rauf is believed to have been killed inside Pakistan in a CIA missile attack in November. “He’s not the only [British Muslim] to die out here,” said the source.

In August, Brigadier Ed Butler, the former commander of UK forces in Afghanistan, told The Telegraph that there are “British passport holders” in the Taliban ranks.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that RAF Nimrod surveillance planes monitoring Taliban radio signals in Afghanistan had heard militants speaking with Yorkshire and Midlands accents.

Patrick Mercer, the chairman of the House of Commons sub-committee on counter-terrorism, said it was “to be expected” that Muslims born in Britain were among the enemy dead in Afghanistan.

He said: “The terrorist operations undertaken by British citizens at home and abroad shows the scale of British Muslims’ involvement in extremism around the world. It should not come as a surprise that some of the enemy dead in Afghanistan can be traced back to the UK.”
