Warmonger David Cameron Commits to Continued War in Afghanistan
The warmongering Tory party has committed itself to continuing the illegal and unwinnable war in Afghanistan no matter how many British soldiers die, flying directly in the face of increasing public hostility and opposition to that conflict.
Tory leader David Cameron said if the Conservative Party won the next election, he would introduce “sweeping measures to drag the Government on to a proper war footing.”
Mr Cameron also confirmed that should his party win the next election, there will be no change in policy from that of the current Labour regime, adding that it was “unlikely” that the number of British troops in Afghanistan would drop in the immediate future.
Directly contradicting his earlier pronouncements that British troops would come home as soon as Afghans were handed control of their own country, Mr Cameron now said he did not want to raise “false hopes” that soldiers would return home even if such handovers occurred.
The number of British troops fighting in Afghanistan rose to more than 10,000 this week after Gordon Brown announced a further 500 soldiers would be deployed.
According to a news report, Mr Cameron said he wanted “to put Britain on a proper war footing, and I want people in the country to feel that. It’s a whole change of mindset.”
* Meanwhile, as British soldiers die in Afghanistan, it has been announced that a second son of the Afghan governor of Helmand province has applied for asylum in soft touch Britain.
Hajimal Mangal, son of governor Gulab Mangal, claimed he “feared for his life” and was a “prisoner in his own land.”
His brother Barai applied for asylum earlier this year after claiming that it was too dangerous for him to live in Afghanistan. Barai currently gets free accommodation and £35 a week spending money.
*As of 15 November 2009, there had been a total of 233 British fatalities in Afghanistan. For the period 1 January 2006 to 31 August 2009, available records show that a further 850 UK military and civilian personnel were admitted to UK Field Hospitals and categorised as wounded in action. Of these, 122 were categorised as very seriously injured, and 143 were categorised as seriously injured.
The British National Party has vowed to immediately end all British involvement in foreign wars, particularly those in the Middle East and Afghanistan which have nothing at all to do with our nation’s interests or security.
