Standing Room Only as 150 Pack out Latest Leicestershire BNP Meeting

More than 150 people packed out the latest British National Party meeting in Leicestershire to hear an outstanding array of speakers including Andrew Brons MEP, reports our regional correspondent.
Geoff Dickens, East Midlands regional organiser, opened the meeting and welcomed the attendees, especially the large number of people attending their first BNP meeting.
“He said that there were a huge number of enquiries to follow up and that there were a considerable number of local people waiting to join the party when the new constitution had been ratified.
The meeting also heard from the four local organisers who each outlined the excellent work that BNP councillors were doing and the huge amount of leafleting that was taking place throughout Leicestershire.
Cllr Wayne McDermott, East Midlands election officer, then outlined the plans for the forthcoming general election and said that we would be fighting a minimum of six seats in Leicestershire.
Parish and District Councillor Ian Meller had been chosen as the prospective parliamentary candidate to stand for North West Leicestershire, which is the seat where the party expects to have its best result.
Cllr John Ryde, who is also the prospective parliamentary candidate for Bosworth, called for a boycott of the press. “Why give your hard-earned cash to read lies about yourself, from someone who hates you”, he asked the meeting to great applause.
The last speaker was Mr Brons who said that the recent Question Time had been a watershed for the party and that support had rocketed since then.
Mr Brons went on to tell the meeting that those who control our language also control our thoughts, exactly as portrayed by George Orwell in his novel 1984.
“We must regain control over our language and speak the truth again the dogmas of those who seek to control us,” Mr Brons said.
