Government Needs to Cut £15 Billion from Budget, Think Tank Warns — And BNP Knows Exactly Where
The Government needs to cut £15 billion from the budget spend if Britain wants to balance its books, says the Institute for Fiscal Studies. The British National Party knows exactly how to do this: by halting foreign aid, payments to the EU and stopping the illegal war in Afghanistan.
According to the IFS, the Government has “not revealed the full extent of cuts needed to pay off the UK’s debts.”
Commenting in the wake of this week’s pre-budget report, the IFS warned that public spending is facing a £36 billion squeeze from 2011 and that £15 billion of the required cuts is still to be identified.
The IFS said that the Government will have to cut 6.4 percent per year between 2011 and 2014 if the budget for “schools, hospitals and increase[d] overseas aid” is to remain protected. The IFS also estimated the cost to families of paying back the national debt is £2,400 over a minimum of eight years.
Mr Darling refused to spell out in any detail where spending would be cut, obviously preferring to keep any nasty surprises until after the election.
Unlike Mr Darling, the BNP knows exactly where to make the savings which will go a long way to helping balance the books.
Firstly, the foreign aid budget of around £8 billion per year — and increasing steadily — must be halted with immediate effect.
Secondly, the outrageous £6 billion paid over to the European Union for the 2010/11 year should be halted with immediate effect.
The pre-budget report showed that Britain’s contributions to the EU had doubled in three years. In the 2008/2009 financial year, British taxpayers paid £3 billion to the EU. In the 2009/2010 year, this figure leaped to £4.8 billion and it will increase by a further £1.2 billon for the following year.
Thirdly, the illegal war in Afghanistan now costs nearly £9 billion per year. Both Tories and Labour are fully committed to staying there and even intensifying the conflict, regardless of the cost.
By simply halting these three obvious areas of complete waste, some £23 billion could be shaved off Government expenditure overnight.
Only the BNP dares to have these common sense and practical policies.
More importantly, only the BNP has the political willpower to carry out these urgently needed corrective measures through which this nation can be saved.
