There are only 5 ways to deal with the mind-boggling mountain of debt run up by 'I have ended boom and bust ' Gordon Brown;-
1) Massive tax increases (after the election, naturally).
2) Massive cuts in public spending. If these means fewer black lesbian outreach workers, so much to the good. But Gordon Brown will be loath to do this. After all, he has bought his votes with massive handouts of our money to his supporters, including all the usual suspects. That's why Labour did so well in the recent Glasgow by-election – that constituency is full of bought and paid for Labour voters at our expense.
3) Inflating the currency.
4) Refuse to pay it back and simply pay the interest , leaving our children to pick up the bill.
5) Some combination of the above. This is the most likely scenario,

Whatever happens, it means unremitting gloom for this country. What a disaster for Britain in every way posiible this government has been.

The country is in deep trouble and Nero Brown is still fiddling the figures, whilst obscuring the truth.
Which Chancellor sold off 700 Tonnes of Gold at $235 per ounce 10 years ago to partly prop up the Euro?
I would suggest immediate cessation of Foreign Aid to Africa and Asia. They are only fairweather friends anyway.
The Qangoes OFTHIS and OFTHAT to be closed immediately, all contracts declared null and void, then Jobs for those on over £50k per annum re-negotiated at 50% lower rate, similarly with all the Council Top Jobs.
Failed Chief Executives of Banks bailed out by Taxpayers to be jailed, (well they are only highly paid gamblers, when all is said and done, but they have lost us all money), much the same as Nick Leeson.
I think that being managed by the IMF may be the only way to get these Communist Spendthrifts under control.
Always remeber the Socialist mindset.

Every time I listen to the political class I get the distinct impression that they are so far removed from the concerns and worries of ordinary people that they might as well be living on Mars. Broon in particularly is in complete denial about the actual state of the economy an economy that he helped to wreck when he was Chancellor and continues to wreck as (unelected) PM. The worrying thing for me is that a significant proportion of ordinary people still have some faith in this charlatan. What will it take for people to smell the coffee ? If, as predicted by some economists we have a "w" shaped recession this, perhaps, just maybe the stimulus needed to promote real change – by that I mean even more people will vote for us. I hate to wish ill-fortune on our already stressed country but sometimes its the only way.

So Mr Brown is going to halve the deficit, just as soon as he dons the cloak, pointed hat and polishes the wand. Does than man know just how much of a fool he sounds. There will be tax rises, there will be cuts to services, there will be more hardship ahead for many hard working tax-payers. The same will happen under Cameron or Clegg. You don't need an MBA, an economics degree or even an understanding of how the financial world works. If you have 50 pounds only to spend at the check-out and the bill is 51 pounds you have to go without something. That is real economics.

Labour have traditionally left a financial mess behind them for someone else to clean up. Then they can crow over the despatch box at how badly the opposition are at governing. having said that, labour have never before been elected three times in a row. We are in uncharted waters.

I do not believe we yet know anything like the full extent of labour's financial mismanagement. we know about the great expenses robbery, and we know how much their pointless wars are costing. We know what the government says about immigration, but so many figures over the years have been massaged and twisted, from the crime rate, to the education budget, through immigration and the unemployed, that we have no idea what they have been wasting (or possibly salting away. Blair I understand now has 6 houses for example)

Tax rises and cuts are inevitable no matter who gets in next year, even the BNP could not avoid it. The only difference the BNP would make is that for once we might get the truth.
