Media Lies: Media Rebuttal Unit Takes First Media Scalp
The Media Rebuttal Unit, led by BNP Projects Coordinator Cllr. Paul Golding, has claimed its first media scalp. Several weeks ago, The Sun newspaper published an article headlined “BNP Squaddie Gives Nazi Salute” — but the problem with that story was that the soldier in question was not and has never been a member of the BNP.
The Media Rebuttal Unit immediately lodged a formal complaint with the Press Complaints Commission. The Sun has now agreed to a number of concessions, including publishing a letter from Cllr. Golding stating that the soldier in question was never a member of the BNP.
“Hopefully the robust and swift actions of the Media Rebuttal Unit will lead to The Sun newspaper being less cavalier with their facts,” Cllr Golding said.
The Media Rebuttal Unit is at present pursuing retractions from four other newspapers. More updates follow shortly.
