Local Publican Gives Team Black Country BNP a Boost

A local publican provided the Black Country BNP team with an unexpected boost last Saturday after inviting them into his pub to set up their stall out of the rain, reports correspondent John Salvage.
“The day started off on a bad note when our large vehicle which was to transport a team of activists to help out in the Nuneaton by-election broke down,” Mr Salvage said.
“The team resourcefully decided instead to head into Tipton Green, one of our hotpspots where a BNP candidate once came within 30 votes of winning,” he said.
“No sooner had we set up the table but the weather turned. The rain lashed down and the team was buffeted by the wind. It seemed as if the day was ruined.”
It was then that a local publican spotted the BNP activists and signalled to Councillor Russ Green to come to his establishment door.
“Hey fellas, you’ve got our support anyway, get yourselves in here, and set up where the disco normally stands,” the cheerful landlord told Cllr Green.
The activists did just that and within an hour had sold ten tickets to the Christmas Lectures with MEP and party leader, Nick Griffin.
“In addition, a fair amount of change was dropped into the donation tin,” Mr Salvage continued. “It turned out to be a fantastically successful day as large numbers of people took shelter from the weather inside the pub and our literature was snapped up,” Mr Salvage said.
