I think that's way over the top. I am a Hindu myself, but I celebrated Christmas with my Christian friends ever since I can remember. It was always more of a social event to me. I had so many pleasant memories. As a kid, I always looked forward to Christmas – with the lovely lights, decorations, the amazing stories and cartoons on the telly (to be honest, as a grown up I still sneak in and watch them when no one is around). I can't find anything remotely wrong with celebrating Christmas.

Christmas is integral to the identity of the Europeans. How can anyone possibly object to it? Whats more, how come the mighty ones from the council found any validity in such claims?

In my humble opinion, people should not try to settle in a Christian country if they are not comfortable with such fundamental issues. I wonder what would happen if we go to a Muslim country and demand that the Friday prayers be stopped.

I could understand this if it was maybe Baghdad City Council that had pulled this stunt!
Surely Dundee City Council are not run by ethnics?????
Certainly sounds like DCC are yet another City ready to pander to them!

The only 1 day a year that most families spend Christmas together,eating,drinking and watching their children be spoilt for 1 day by a man dressed in red with reindeers and that bloody spineless council take away the festive lighting that the children love to see around their City (Dundee).I am totally disgusted and would love to meet the counseller that approved that yellow bellied idea and teach him a lesson in PATRIOTISM,

That's a terrible thing., to ban Christmas lights in Dundee. l imagine that will also include banning the traditional banners proclaiming "Peace on Earth and Good Will towards Men." And this is just to please a load of mediaeval thinking alien third worlders, who hate us and our Christian religion?
