it is amazing to think that the so called eu foreign minister has never once had a single vote casted for her .that more people have cast democratic votes for the bnp then for these appointed tsars. that nick griffin and andrew brons get so much flak from the liberal elite who daily show the contempt for the democratic process. is not peter kellner also part of the you gov poll service. will he ask the nation if they want his wife appointed eu foreign minister. there is a old saying that opinion polls are used to sway opinion not neccessary to record it .

An extremely well paid figurehead, though, with a vast amount of influence and patronage. I wonder when Trevor Phillips will be rewarded for his devotion to the cause by a juicy position on the Brussels gravy train?

Not that we really needed any more evidence, Vanguard, of the potential corruption and tyranny of the EU soviet..
If we are not yet actually slaves, then we are little better than serfs, thanks to a succession of lying, devious governments.

Why is it that in Politics people who have absolutely no experience in a particular area - and certainly no expertise - are given top jobs in these areas? Then when they fail, as they always do, is everyone surprised that they made a total mess of the job? Look at Gordon Brown as Chancellor of the Exchequer for a prime example - a man with no financial experience or expertise, given control of the country's finances.

It would be like me being given a job as top Brain Surgeon in the country - with no training, experience or knowledge - but being allowed to perform the job on hapless victims who are given no say in the person who will operate on them.

Of course, the appointing of such a woman as Ms Ashton to the position of EU Foreign Affairs Minister tells us one thing. She is not expected to be anything other than a figurehead - a puppet who will do exactly what she is told to do by the real rulers of Europe.

This person reminds me of a late, unlamented, labour harridan, Bessie Braddock, who once in the house of commons told Churchill that he was drunk. His reply "I may be drunk but you are ugly and tomorrow I will be sober"
To the point, once again our corrupt politicians have got one of their toadies into a nice cushy number, how much is this creature being paid? If you look around our country there are hundreds, if not thousands, of such creatures of both sexes in unelected positions in various quango's , all drawing massive salaries & pensions, who are answerable to no one but the corrupt leaders in "wasteminster" !

"So now, after a lifetime of scrounging off the taxpayer, Ms Ashton has hit the jackpot. Never having once stood for office, never having once worked in foreign affairs, and never having once actually worked a proper 9 to 5 job, Ms Ashton is now the EU’s first High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy."

Perhaps this will make the people of Europe realise that the EU is run by an unelected political Elite, for the benefit of themselves - the only involvement that the stupid mugs called the people of Europe have is paying all the bills. Is anyone really amazed at why all the politicians from the mainstream Parties are so fervent about this country's continued membership of the EU? They hope that if they too can appear to be 'in the program' or 'on side', they might be lucky enough to hit the jackpot too - and have a life on the EU Gravy Train. That is the only reason you will not hear Labour, Conservative or Lib Dem MPs speaking one word against the EU monstrosity.

And while we are talking about elections and the EU - strange how those 2 words just don't seem to go well together - why is that the EU, sometimes referred to as the United States of Europe, can manage to 'appoint' a 'President' of Europe without one single European citizen being given the chance to vote (apart from the shadowy elite who run the whole show for their benefit), while the United States of America only appoints a President after he has faced and won an Election involving the entire US electorate? Compared to the example set by the USA, one might suggest that the EU is nothing more than a dictatorship.
