Achievement Award for Former Portsmouth Organiser
The former Portsmouth organiser of the British National Party, Mr Roger Knight, was recently given a unique activists’ award by South East regional organiser Andy McBride, our correspondent reports.
“Mr Knight was a key founding member of Portsmouth branch who has stood for the party in every election for the last decade,” Mr McBride said when making the award.
“When party chairman Mr Nick Griffin heard about Mr Knight’s retirement due to ill-health, he insisted on taking time out of his schedule to issue the achievement award.”
A pleased Mr Knight said he was “taken back by Mr Griffin’s award. I shall always treasure this moment.”
“I am not stopping working for the party,” Mr Knight continued. “I shall still be active and stand for the party in elections.”
Mr McBride thanked Mr Knight for his years of hard work. “He is a hard-working man who has achieved much for this party, and the party thanks Mr Knight for his years of service.”
New Portsmouth organiser, Gavin Miller, said he was “very happy that Mr Knight will still be available as an advisor within the Portsmouth branch. He is a great friend to everyone here in Pompeii.”
