Then how on earth does he describe the antics of his doltish successor – belief that shariah law would be good, we need to give up our western way of life to halt global warming (may not be quite what was pronounced but that was the gist of it). The CofE as a whole with the recent article about making the church "more like Lidl and less like M&S" or somesuch nonsense.

I would like to say to the CofE leadership: STOP telling people what party they can or cannot support, in fact keep out of secular activities completely. START administering to the spiritual needs of your flock – i.e. what you are meant to do. Oh and try to understand the difference between a Christian person and a church-goer please.

I would have thought that as a former Archbishop of Canterbury….. and i take it he still holds his Christian faith… that he would have felt it his duty to state Christianity was the ONE TRUE religion !

Then again i suppose it comes under appeasement and not wanting to offend…although he is willing to offend up to 1 million BNP voters.
