Penrith BNP Takes BNP Message to Townsfolk
The Penrith branch of the British National Party took our message to the voters there in a highly successful day of action last Saturday, reports North West regional organiser Clive Jefferson.
“Local organiser Kevin Clark, ably assisted by members Ian Holt and Dee Lockhart, gave out hundreds of leaflets and sold many copies of the last two issues of Voice of Freedom newspaper,” Mr Jefferson said.
Eden District has sustained and increased its BNP work rate since the Euro elections and, as with other areas in Cumbria, solid grassroots street activism is now the norm for the Penrith unit.
“The information stall also distributed election addresses pertaining to the Penrith West by-election which the party is contesting,” Mr Jefferson said.
“Our leaflet there contains a questionnaire on local issues, a tactic which we have successfully used to identify the maters of importance to the local residents.
“From that, it became apparent that people are concerned about the re-development of the town centre and the large-scale building developments planned for the area,” he said.
“Our candidate, Alistair Barbour, had already declared his opposition to the developments and the survey results showed that our strategy was spot on once again,” he concluded.
