Tory Leader: Conservatives Will Up Foreign Aid to £14 Billion and Increase Aid to Nuclear Pakistan
A future Conservative Party government will increase the amount of foreign aid Britain gives away to at least £14 billion and up aid to Pakistan, despite that country being a nuclear power with a $7.8 billion defence budget.
Launching the Tory party’s green paper on foreign aid, David Cameron also pledged to continue the current Government’s commitment to spending billions of your tax money in ‘foreign aid’ to the Third World if his party wins the next election.
Pakistan’s defence budget includes a navy which possesses four F-22P light frigates purchased from China in a deal worth $600 million. Pakistan has also recently purchased three new SSK attack submarines to replace its current two Agosta-70 submarines. Pakistan is also seeking to enhance its strategic strike capability by developing naval variants of the Babur cruise missile. The Babur cruise missile has a range of 700 km and is capable of using both conventional and nuclear warheads.
Pakistan has 48 HEU-based nuclear warheads, and has produced 800 kg of HEU, enough for a further 55 atom bombs.
Despite all of this, the Tory green paper on foreign aid asserts that “As part of our review of British bilateral aid spending, we will look particularly closely at our work in Afghanistan and Pakistan to see whether it would be possible to raise support further and faster.”
The deluded Tory policy paper continues: “There are limits to the capacity of these countries to absorb more aid without sacrificing quality, and we will measure success by outputs and outcomes, not inputs. But our mission in these countries cannot be allowed to fail for lack of effort.”
In his official press release accompanying the green paper, Mr Cameron said that “switching money to domestic (British) needs would be a serious long term mistake.”
The Tory traitor has pledged to increase the amount of your money he gives away to a shocking £14.9 billion by 2013, or 0.7 percent of Britain’s GDP.
Not even the backstabbing Labour Party has managed to reach this amount, pledging instead to only give away about £9 billion by 2011.
Making the understatement of the year, Mr Cameron said: “I understand why people might say that at a time like this, in economic circumstances like these, that increasing the amount we spend on foreign aid is the last thing we should do.”
According to the Tory’s green paper, they have “made the bold pledge, even in the context of this fiscal squeeze, to increase the level of British aid.”
This is despite the fact that large amounts of this money — which is urgently needed here at home to provide services to British people who have paid the taxes — is lost in Third World corruption.
Astonishingly, the Tory criminals acknowledge this as a fact, and actually insist that the British taxpayer pay for ‘foreign aid policing’ as well. The Conservative green paper continues: “Since we believe that transparency is the best way to fight corruption, we will ensure that DFID reveals corruption that is uncovered in any project and programme that we have supported. With a Conservative government all country programmes will have a designated anti-fraud officer.”
The Tory paper makes it clear that five percent of all aid will be set aside “to help local parliaments, civil society and audit institutions track where the money is going” — a shocking admission that they know that the money is stolen.
The Tory paper contains a number of additional shocks for the beleaguered British taxpayer milch cows:
- The Tories will put ten-year aid plans into place to replace the current Labour administration one-year projects;
- The Tories will “accelerate the process of relieving heavily indebted poor countries of their debt” – - in other words, the taxpayers of Britain will be called upon to pick up the tab for other nations’ debts;
- The Tories will pay for the training of Third World soldiers from the African Union at British military colleges to build up the military capacity of Africa.
Let no one say they were not warned: if handed the reins of power, the Tories fully intend to extend and rob the British taxpayers even more than the current Labour regime.
