Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons Take Their Seats in the European Parliament

ng-strasbourgToday saw British nationalist history made with the first appearance of Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons as official members of the European parliament in Strasbourg, France, after they were formally inducted into membership of that body.

The appearance of the British National Party delegates attracted wide media attention – especially after they declared themselves happy that arch-traitor Glennys Kinnock, wife of failed ex-Labour Party leader Neil, had not invited them to a drinks reception for British MEPs tomorrow night.

“They said we couldn’t join in the champagne trough,” Mr Brons told the media, while Mr Griffin added that he “wouldn’t want to share a drink with Glenys Kinnock anyway. They [the Kinnocks] haven’t got their noses in the trough; they’re in the trough.”

strasbourg-parliament-ng-lepenMr Brons also told the media that the BNP’s “default position is that this place and Brussels have no right whatsoever to legislate on Britain,” adding, however, that he and Mr Griffin would not be “total abstentionists” when it came to decisions affecting Britain from the EU chamber.

Reacting to threat by the fascist Labour Government to withhold state information from the BNP team, Mr Griffin said that the party would legally challenge any move to bar its public representatives from any official briefings. “Blocking us and our constituents from information is an outrage. We will make a formal complaint,” said Mr Griffin.

Prior to the official opening, Mr Griffin took time out to meet up with several old colleagues and friends, including Mr Jean Marie le Pen from the Front National. Mr Griffin sits alongside Mr Le Pen in the unaligned group in the European parliament, next to colleagues from Austria, Hungary and Italy.
