More Media Lies about BNP Officially Retracted
The Sun newspaper was forced to publish a retraction over its earlier lies about the BNP and the Gurkhas, while another story about BNP MEPs being banned from a public house in Brussels was shown to be a hoax.
During the run-up to the European election campaign, The Sun newspaper published the contents of a leaflet which had been drawn up by an extremist leftist linked to the Tory Party-affiliated UAF organisation. The leaflet claimed to have been issued by the BNP, and contained highly defamatory remarks about Gurkhas, including a picture of a recently deceased soldier with a crosshair sight over his face.
Even though it was obvious that the leaflet did not originate with the BNP, the disgusting liars in The Sun’s editorial office gave great prominence to the leaflet in its online and printed editions in an attempt to heap yet more lies on the party.
Fortunately, the liars at The Sun failed in their attempt to prevent the BNP winning seats in the European elections. They had also failed to take into account the highly effective ‘Operation Fightback’ campaign run by the party under Councillor Paul Golding.
Within hours of The Sun’s lies appearing, the Press Complaints Commission had been flooded with thousands of angry members of the public objecting to the vicious lies put out by that newspaper.
Now revenge has been sweet: The Sun was forced to publish a full retraction in its printed and online versions, admitting that its original story was untrue.
BNP: 1 – The Sun liars: 0.
* In addition, recent hysterical media reports that BNP MEPs Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons had been barred from the Fabian O’Farrell’s public house outside the European Parliament, have been denied by the bar’s co-owner Jeremy Payne.
Contacted by The Parliament.com, a news site devoted to EU matters, Mr Payne said he was unaware of any ban on the BNP duo. “As far as I am concerned they can drink here as long as they abide by the same rules as everyone else.”
