Enquiries to BNP Contact Centre “To Exceed Total Labour Party Membership”

May 22, 2009 - By BNP News

bnp-call-centreCurrent levels of enquiries being directed to the British National Party’s contact centre through all channels – telephone, text, email and mail – will soon eclipse the total membership of the Labour Party by tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, according to BNP administration consultant Jim Dowson.

Speaking exclusively to BNP News, Mr Dowson said that over the last two days alone, the contact centre had taken 32,000 telephone calls.

“I have never seen anything like it in my life before,” Mr Dowson said. “The incremental increase over the last ten days has put the entire call centre staff under immense pressure, but we are coping.” He asked for some callers to please be patient as all calls will be answered or returned.

“Given these rates, I have no doubt that before the end of the election campaign, we will have received more enquiries than the current total membership of the Labour Party,” he said.

”We were initially projecting only half that number, but things have escalated beyond even our expectations, to the point where the call centre was for a brief time yesterday overloaded and briefly offline,” he said. “I would say that we are online for a total final enquiry rate of at least a quarter of a million inquiries before June 4th.”

The calls are all in support of the BNP, or are requests for information packs, BNP window posters and membership applications, he said.

“The one notable trend has been the large number of Gold BNP memberships we are issuing over the phone. People are clearly fed up with the other parties and are looking to the BNP for inspiration and salvation from this current mess,” Mr Dowson said.

* The BNP’s Euro election TV broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday 26th May on BBC 1 at 6.55pm, BBC 2 at 5.55pm and ITV at 6.25pm. It was broadcast on Channel 5 this evening, and can be viewed below.
