I understand exactly how you feel as I have been in the same situation. However I now turn the other cheek to these scroungers and think of my children and my future grandchildren. With every pound that we give to these people we are encouraging not only them but others. It's the 'soft touch' Britain situation where they know that there are people like you and I that will fall for their scams. Please listen to your sisters, they are correct. My old mum (bless her soul) always used to say that charity begins at home. This is the way it should be. Thank you Thelma, I take it on board, and totally understand, its been very little that Ive given, as I dont frequent that supermarket a lot, but the eastern European woman is always there with the Big Issue, I do give to WORTHY causes a lot more,, and I mean a LOT more. I just remember thinking at the times, that it wasnt totally her fault that she was begging. Im not a bleeding heart, or anything, but sometimes give to charities or very poor etc, I can totally and fully understand with your sentiments and I do hear it from my older sisters!!!! Its a confusing situation to be faced with someone who begs for money, its not something Im comfortable with. Ive NEVER given to any tinpot dictatorships in Africa, for example, and I oppose mass immigration. I am better avoiding the situations where Ill be fleeced , its so very difficult to avoid this kind of begging now.

At my neice's primary school (COE) they decided not to have the Christmas carol service or nativity play but they did a ramadam project and lit candels for the indian festival of light.
A church near me on the old kent road is now a mosque.
This is a christain – not a muslim country – and it angers me that our church leaders are also letting us down

Please do not ever give these Big Issue people money ! The Big Issue was set up for our own homeless and out of work people. They are now being sold by the foreign invaders that have been let in by the traitors of the lib/lab/con. They let them in, then they should be dealing with them ! At the end of the day they will be getting benefits via you and I and the taxpayer. Please do not give them more ! Instead give that pound to a worthy cause ie an OAP's outing or a worthy charity !!!!

I so admire these people for informing the church-goers about the foolish archbishops who have been lodged into the churches by Labour. I am Catholic, but was considering joining the Church of Englands sister church the Scottish Episcopals, but I am thinking twice now, as I will not attend services or buy into anything which says "no to bnp". Today, for example, I went to a supermarket where an Eastern European woman was selling the Big Issue, I usually give the woman a pound for herself, and tell her I dont like the magazine and I dont want it in my house, she doesnt care, shes happy to have a pound for herself., she said "God bless you, lady", I walked away thinking, "and God bless the BNP" Today I saw it had "no to bnp" on the front cover, but lets face it, how many people actually take the Big Issue seriously..

The church has a portfolio of property worth over £5 billion ( and I don't think that includes the prime real estate that the churches themselves occupy ) and millions in the bank .Where did all this money come from ? Er – lets look at the slave trade for a start.
P'raps its the guilt that is prompting Beavis and Butthead ( I like that one ) to stick their oars in.
Funny , as a non Christian , I am always struck by the difference between the example of Christ – as set out in the Bible – and the lifestyles of the lazy good for nothing windbags in the modern Church. Say what you will about Islam at least the Imams are willing to get their hands blown off to advance their religion. I can't imagine any of the CoE bishops taking up the sword . Maybe that's why churches are closing faster than pubs.

Well done Corsham.
Christians generally abide by the civil laws. They pay taxes, register cars, births, marriages and deaths etc. In fact often don't recognise common law marriage accepting only marriages that have been registered with the registry office as valid. So when professing Christians and clergy have no problems with those elements of our society; and even sit in the House of Lords when they reach a certain level, it seems daft that members of a political party should be banned from holding positions within the church.
Seeing as common sense obviously doesn't play a part in their reasoning for making such a rule, foul play of the leftist kind has to be afoot here.
I just hope that more switched on Christians will see the light and do something constructive on June 4th such as vote BNP, rather than carry on along the self destructive path that the Arch Bishops would have them follow.

Well done Corsham for taking such an initiative as you have done.

Great work – but I don't agree with the Judas analogy. Judas was a real traitor from within, one of Christ's closest followers and an apparent friend. To me, the elders of our Church of England seem more like the Scribes and Pharisees of the New Testament, who were openly challenged and heavily criticised by Jesus, sometimes in really scorching words which are rarely read out in Church (I think they are mostly in the gospel of Matthew, though all four gospels record more than one instance of Christ's scathing condemnation of these haughty, sanctimonious self-styled keepers of the Law). The Scribes and Pharisees sucked up to the Roman colonisers and despised and excluded their own native poor. The Samaritans were also high and mighty and much hated – that is why Christ tried to get his fellow Judeans to understand that not all Samaritans were bad, by telling the story of how a rich Samaritan on the way back to his own country (Samaria) through Judea helped a Judean who had been attacked.
