Eastern Region BNP Growth Necessitates Three New Organisers
The dramatic growth of support for the British National Party in England’s Eastern region has necessitated the appointment of three new sub-regional organisers to cope with the amount of work, it was announced at last Saturday’s Eastern regional council meeting.
The development has shown just how far the Eastern region has progressed since the last European elections in 2004, when there were just eight active units who fielded sixteen local council candidates under an almost non-existent regional organisation.
Under the steadfast leadership of Eastern regional organiser, Eddy Butler, the region now has twenty four active units and will be fielding around seventy candidates for the county council elections.
The rapid growth of the region means there is now too much work for a single organiser, which led Mr Butler to announce the appointment of three sub-regional organisers: Emma Colgate organising Essex, David Fleming covering East Anglia, and Steve McCole taking on Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
The meeting also covered all aspects of the forthcoming election campaign for June 4th, and the thirty two unit officials present from across the Eastern region are now prepared to do their bit to make this the most professional campaign ever run by the party.
Target seats have been selected for the county council elections and all units will be involved in leafleting and running paper sale stalls to maximise the BNP vote in the European elections. On top of this, the Eastern region will be utilising billboard and newspaper advertising for the first time and making use of the party’s now famous Truth Truck.
