Local Businessman Funds Black Country’s St. George’s Day March
A local Black Country businessman has announced that he will fund the St. George’s Day march which the Labour-controlled council recently tried to prevent from taking place.
Local truck company director Chris Kelly has pledged £10,000 to allow the parade to go ahead. Mr Kelly was quoted as saying that, “If people want to unite behind the English flag then so be it, as far as I’m concerned. It’s not for a council to decide that.”
Team Black Country BNP organiser Ken Griffiths and Councillor Russel Green expressed their appreciation for Mr Kelly’s contribution.
“We were disgusted when Labour hijacked the march a few years ago, after wanting to ban it for a decade and a half. The organisers never intended the English saint to be politicised.
“The BNP went as an organised group for the first time four years ago when locals put up BNP posters, Union flags, and the Cross of St George in their windows. Many came out to greet us, and wanted to meet our leaders.”
The new funding means that the last obstacle to holding the march on Sunday 19th April has been removed.
“All those attending the march, please remember this is a celebration of Englishness, and that means marching with dignity, pride in who we are, and with a sense of history for all those who fought and died to keep the England we all love and respect,” said Mr Griffiths. “Team Black Country BNP has helped put pressure on the Labour Council, but once again, this march is non-political, and all flags, bunting, and other patriotic items brought on the 19th, should reflect this. See you ALL there with pride and dignity.”
