North Wales BNP Road Show Raises Record-setting £4,700

March 31, 2009

roadshow-wrexham-bnp1More than £4,700 was raised at the Battle for Britain road show held in Wrexham over the past weekend, reports Bill Murray, Welsh secretary.

“The final amount raised was exactly £4,728, which I think is a record for any road show except maybe in London,” a highly satisfied Mr Murray said.

“The huge turnout of over 125 people is also a tribute to the hard work that the activists of BNP North Wales have put into the area, tackling former Labour and Plaid Cymru strongholds with ease,” he said.

The owner of the venue also attended the show purely out of curiosity rather than support for the BNP. By the end of the evening even she had been totally won over, telling all and sundry that if “Nick Griffin was allowed on TV, he would be in number 10 tomorrow.”

Mr Murray said the road show, the very last one which will be held, had capped off an extraordinarily successful weekend of campaigning throughout North Wales.

ennys-in-mold“We had teams out leafleting in Mold, Buckley, Prestatyn and Anglesey all at the same time,” he said. Nearly 10,000 leaflets were distributed in one day.

“The reaction from the people of Anglesey, which is notorious as a ‘Plaid Islam’ party stronghold, was tremendous. It seems as if many voted Plaid simply because they hated both Labour and Tories. All jumped at the opportunity to learn about a real opposition to all the other parties,” Mr Murray said.

At the same time, a group of activists also leafleted in Knighton, mid Wales, while BNP Wales lead euro candidate Ennys Hughes was on the campaign trail in Mold (picture alongside).

“We are sure that the BNP vote in Wales is going to be one of the big surprises in the upcoming elections,” Mr Murray said. “Watch this space and see!”

Can BNP Make a Breakthrough in the South West Euros?

March 31, 2009

jeremy-wotherspoon1The British National Party needs around 14.5 percent of the vote to win a Euro parliamentary seat in the South West of England and given recent by-election results this is not beyond the realm of possibility, said the party’s lead candidate in the region, Mr Jeremy Wotherspoon.

Speaking at the latest BNP Sedgemoor and South Somerset meeting, Mr Wotherspoon said the party had polled 17 percent of the vote in a by-election in Yeovil recently, and had topped 14 percent in Torquay by-elections.

“A lot has happened in this country over the last five years which has really riled people,” he said. “The sight of Islamists abusing our troops in the streets of Luton, the fact that UKIP is on the point of collapse and has no more Kilroy-Silk confidence tricks left, and the effects of mass immigration have all been keenly felt and are playing into the BNP’s hands.”

First speaker was Midwest organiser Mike Howson, who told the audience (which included several new members) about the BNP infrastructure and how it is constantly evolving due to the rapid growth of the party.

Sedgemoor and South Somerset BNP planned to stand candidates in the next round of elections. The meeting was closed following an announcement that the collection had raised £135.00, and that the next meeting would be a St Georges Day celebration.

Settled Minorities versus Colonisation: BNP Immigration Policy Spelt Out

March 31, 2009

kings-lynn-bnpThere is a world of difference between the existence of settled minorities and the wholesale Third World colonisation of Britain which is occurring today, said BNP website content editor Arthur Kemp.

Speaking to a crowded recent branch meeting in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, Mr Kemp said there was no comparison between immigration levels of the past and of today.

“It is the difference between having a Chinatown in London, and London becoming Chinatown,” he said.

“Being born in a British colony, I know all about colonisation. That is a process which occurs when another people come to a new land and force the locals to adhere to foreign ways, customs and culture.

“No matter what the historical rights or wrongs may be, colonisation is an evil process which should not be allowed to happen to any people. Yet this is precisely what is happening in Britain today.

“This country is being colonised through mass immigration, and the BNP is the only party which is committed to ensuring that Britain remains a British country. All the other parties seek either an increase in immigration or in the Tory Party’s case, a drip-feed immigration policy to overwhelm this nation at a slightly slower pace.”

He pointed out that the Left regularly protest about Chinese colonisation of Tibet, with members of parliament even complaining about the displacement of Tibetans from their homeland by mass Chinese immigration. “Yet these same people say nothing about this exact process occurring in Britain,” he said.

Mr Kemp also spelt out a range of BNP policy positions, including housing, the NHS, foreign aid and foreign policy, the EU, economics and education, showing that the BNP has a raft of sensible policies dealing with all the major issues facing this nation today.

The collection at the end of the meeting raised £200 for election funds.

Labour’s Europe Minister Never Read the Lisbon Treaty but Signed Us Up for It Anyway

March 31, 2009

caroline-flint-dunceLabour’s Europe Minister Caroline Flint admitted that she never read the Lisbon Treaty which she and the rest of her party have signed on Britain’s behalf.

The shocking admission came yesterday during a debate in parliament, where Ms Flint, who is Member of Parliament for Don Valley, admitted that she had “read some of it but not all of it.”

Her blubbering ignorance spurred her to try and claim that she had “been briefed on the treaty” — still lamentably poor for the person whose only cabinet job is to represent Britain in the European Union.

Ms Flint has, like her colleagues, repeatedly claimed in public that the Lisbon Treaty (which is identical to the EU Constitution over which this nation was promised a referendum) is in Britain’s interests.

For example, in a speech in the House of Commons on October 13, 2008, she said, “I believe that the Lisbon Treaty is good for the United Kingdom and good for Europe. The Lisbon Treaty provides a simpler, more streamlined EU.”

Amongst other things, the Lisbon Treaty provides for

- An EU foreign minister and EU diplomatic service which will supersede national institutions;

- It will also grant the European Court of Justice jurisdiction over key elements of criminal legislation (including arrests and sentencing);

- It will grant to the EU the right to set uniform standards for asylum seekers;

- It will abolish national vetoes and new areas where no veto will apply; and

- It will allow the EU to abolish any non-defence national veto without a new treaty.

Such is the level of incompetence, arrogance and betrayal in the House of Treason. The time has come to sweep this whole gang of traitors into the rubbish bin of history by voting BNP on June 4 2009.

Scottish Police Get Guidelines for the Growing “Honour Crimes” Problem

March 31, 2009

acposThe increasing numbers of Third World colonists living in Scotland has forced the police to issue “honour crimes” guidelines to all forces in that region.

The handbook has “guidance on dealing with honour crimes, forced marriages and human trafficking” — all characteristics which have accompanied the Third World immigration wave in Britain.

Every force in Scotland has been sent copies of the guide, which also covers age, disability, gender, faith and religion, race and sexual orientation.

The booklets, produced at a cost of thousands of pounds by the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (ACPOS), are 140-page manuals which also tell police forces that it is sexist language to talk about “manning a police station.”

It took the ACPOS two years to compile the guide “after consulting 75 different groups,” they proudly boast. The guide also advises on how to search transsexuals and speak to disabled people — including not shouting at the deaf.

It also warns police officers “not to lean on wheelchairs” when speaking to disabled people “as the wheelchairs may move.”

In another section, it warns that not all women dressed provocatively should be arrested as prostitutes.

The guide — covering age, disability, gender, faith and religion, race and sexual orientation — is billed as the latest tool in helping officers engage with diverse communities.

Launching the booklet at Northern Constabulary’s Inverness headquarters, Chief Constable Ian Latimer, chairman of the ACPOS Equality and Diversity committee, said: “Scotland’s communities have changed significantly, and continue to change. It is important to provide guidance and support to staff and ensure that they can more effectively meet the needs of our diverse communities.”

Tory Shadow Minister Named as “Britain’s Most Powerful Muslim Woman”

March 31, 2009

warsi-award-phillips1In yet another example of how the Tory Party has utterly betrayed all British values, its shadow Minister of Community Cohesion has been named as “Britain’s most powerful Muslim” by the “Equality and Human Rights Commission.”

Pakistani-origin Sayeeda Hussain Warsi, promoted to the House of Lords by Tory leader David Cameron and now using the title “Baroness” so that she can pretend to be an elected Tory frontbencher, said she was delighted to be selected.

“I’m extremely proud to be named as the most powerful British Muslim woman and I’m sure my Pakistani origins, my strong faith, and my Yorkshire upbringing has played a huge part,” she said in her reaction.

The winners of the “Muslim’s Woman’s Power List,” which is the brainchild of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and supported by The Times newspaper and the “Muslim lifestyle magazine” Emel, were revealed at a gala do last week in Manchester.

According to her biography on the “Power List” website, Ms Warsi is a campaigner for awareness on issues which plague the immigrant community like forced marriages, female genital mutilation and the chewing of Khat.

She was instrumental in the launch of “Operation Black Vote” in West Yorkshire in 1996 (imagine the cries of “racism” which would accompany any “Operation White Vote”), and was for many years an executive member of the Kirklees Racial Equality Council.

She is also currently chair of the Savayra Foundation, described as a “women’s empowerment charity based in Pakistan.”

Mr Cameron’s choice of Ms Warsi as Community Cohesion shadow minister is perfectly in line with his public demand that Britain be totally Islamified.

In an article published in the Guardian newspaper on May 13, 2007, Mr Cameron said, “Not for the first time, I found myself thinking that it is mainstream Britain which needs to integrate more with the British Asian way of life, not the other way around.”

No one in the Tory party has objected to Mr Cameron’s call for Britain to be Islamified, and voters considering that party as an alternative to Labour should consider his pronouncements carefully before making their political choices.

Labour’s Jacqui Smith Honours Muslim Graffiti Artist

March 31, 2009

islamic-graffitiLabour’s Home Secretary Jacqui Smith took time out from the ongoing row over her husband’s predilection for publicly-funded pornographic videos, to attend an awards ceremony for “unsung Muslim heroes”.

Among the prize winners, who seemingly exemplify the best and the brightest from Britain’s Muslim community, was Mohammed Ali, a Birmingham-based “graffiti artist” whose so-called “aerosol Arabic” is apparently influenced by both classical Islamic calligraphy and urban street graffiti.

Other talented “winners” at the event included:

* Mohammed Mujahid Ali, an alternative therapist, for work “improving the wellbeing and mental health of black and minority ethnic people”, and

* Reverend Gilleasbuig MacMillan, minister at St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh, for “welcoming Muslims to the cathedral”.

The editor of the Muslim News, Ahmed Versi, proudly said: “We began this event nine years ago because we believed that British Muslims have a lot to offer to British society.”

“The quality of nominations from our 150,000 readers show that British Muslims still have what it takes to be pioneering contributors to the common good.”

Jacqui Smith, who is currently facing a row over expenses claims that included two adult films, took to the stage to present the award and said: “Promoting dialogue and understanding is crucially important at a time when we see those on the extreme fringes of society peddling an empty ideology of isolation, fear and hatred.”

Of course there was a time, long ago, when a Home Secretary, even a Labour Home Secretary, might have been expected to express formal public disapproval of both “graffiti artists” and pornographic videos.   But that was before Jacqui Smith’s New Labour government turned reason on its head and elevated the utterly contemptible for public admiration and approval.

South Wales Hosts the Truth Truck and the BNP Road Show

March 30, 2009

bfb-brian-speaksOn a damp Friday in Llanelli, South Wales, BNP activists swamped several areas of the town delivering thousands of ‘This Britain is Yours’ leaflets.

At the same time, the Truth Truck toured the town centre and surrounding areas before moving on to Gorseinon and Swansea to join another team of BNP activists.

Cars tooted their horns, people waved and gave the thumbs up and pedestrians came to a standstill.

Shopkeepers came to their doors and eager faces peered out of office windows. Later in the afternoon, Nick Griffin arrived in Llanelli to join with the leafleting teams and was surprised to be recognised by several passing drivers who indicated their delight at seeing him in the flesh.

Camera crews from two national TV stations accompanied one of the teams in Llanelli and were able to film extensive interviews with Mr Griffin and other activists whilst they were leafleting.

tt-south-walesLater that evening South Wales BNP hosted the enormously successful ‘Battle for Britain Road Show’ at a packed venue where an enthusiastic audience listened enthralled to a keynote speech by Nick Griffin.

It must have made some considerable impact because despite the general poverty in this area of Wales it proved to be an absolute record in the regional fundraising for the Election Campaign.

The following day, the Truth Truck continued around Swansea, Port Talbot, Bridgend and Cardiff, where at one point it was mobbed by builders from one of the few building sites still working and every last Voice of Freedom and leaflet were given out. Vote BNP on June 4th!

BNP Targets Chippenham and is Delighted with the Response

March 30, 2009

chippenham-bnpDuring the month of March, the British National Party has been targeting its efforts to the market town of Chippenham, reports councillor Mick Simpkins.

“The town, which sits on the River Avon, has a population of 28,000 and was once the home of King Alfred the Great,” Councillor Simpkins said.

”As well as leafleting residential areas to raise our profile in preparation of standing candidates in the forthcoming Wiltshire Council elections, time out was taken to set up a small stall at various locations throughout the town to sell Voice of Freedoms, and let the public meet the BNP.

“What our activists didn’t expect was the sheer generosity of the people of Chippenham who in just three sessions bought papers or donated to the value of £300! Now King Alfred would be proud of that!”

Penkridge, South Staffordshire, Meets the BNP

March 30, 2009

penkridge-bnpOn a chilly spring day on Saturday March 28th, Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire British National Party took their “Operation Outreach” campaign to the bustling South Staffordshire village of Penkridge, reports Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire organiser Simon Patten.

“The table and display were set up overlooking the River Penk and the inquisitive locals were soon showing their support, eagerly accepting various leaflets, Voice of Freedom newspapers and membership forms,” he said.

John Painter led a team of leafleters to the nearby Penkridge Market where again they met a very supportive and enthusiastic public.

“Despite the threatening weather conditions it remained dry, but as soon as we packed up and retired to a local public house for well earned refreshment, the heavens opened,” Mr Patten said.

The Colonisation of Britain: 14% of All Primary School Pupils Do Not Have English as a Mother Tongue

March 30, 2009

whitechapel-road-london2The Tory/Labour plan for colonising Britain with Third World immigrants is proceeding apace and their objective of replacing British people with foreigners is well on track as more than fourteen percent of all primary school children do not have English as a mother tongue.

The number of pupils who normally speak a foreign language rose last year to 565,888, or 14.3 percent of the total. In some areas, English is a foreign language to more than 70 percent of four to eleven-year-olds. There are now ten schools without a single pupil who has English as a first language.

Parliamentary questions have revealed that in 2004, 452,388 primary school children spoke English as a second language. By last year this figure had increased by 113,500, a rise of almost exactly twenty five percent. Some 3.7 million legal migrants have entered this country since 1997 – and 2.5 million are from outside the European Union.

In secondary schools, the proportion of pupils who do not have English as their native language has increased from 8.8 percent in 2004 to 10.6 percent last year. The figures are a direct result of massive immigration into Britain which is supported by Tories, Lib-Dems and Labour alike, all of whom are dedicated to seeing Britain overrun as quickly as possible.

In the London borough of Tower Hamlets, only 23 percent of pupils speak English as their first language – and even the majority of those are children of Third World immigrants. At one school, Nelson Primary in East London, three-quarters of pupils are not native English speakers and some 56 different languages are spoken. Headmaster Tim Benson has been quoted in the media as saying his teachers have to use many more hand gestures than usual, as well as drawing pictures.

English is not the mother tongue of 70 percent or more pupils in 60 Birmingham schools, followed by Tower Hamlets in east London (43) and Bradford (40). All these regions have seen large scale Third World immigration, some of them now into the second generation.

Other educational authorities with high numbers of non-English-speaking pupil majorities include Newham (31), Leicester and Kirklees (both 21), Ealing (18), Brent and Oldham (both 17), Blackburn & Darwen (15), Lancashire (13), Luton (11) and Rochdale (9).

Only the British National Party dares to talk about these issues, and is dedicated to doing something about them. Everyone in the country can vote BNP on June 4, 2009. Make sure that you are not part of the signing of the death warrant of this nation by getting out and voting BNP on that day.

Thanks Labour and Tories: Now We Need ID Cards to Travel inside Britain

March 30, 2009

terrorist-warning-posterBritish people will now need identity cards to travel around so that police can try and control the internal terrorist threat – thanks to decades of Tory and Labour immigration policies which have created a massive Third World population from which Islamic extremists can draw recruits.

The new anti-terror laws mean that passengers on ferries to the Isle of Wight, the Scottish islands (such as Mull and Skye) and Belfast will soon have to carry identity papers. In addition, British people flying between British cities or to Northern Ireland will have their personal data logged when booking tickets and checking in.

Under the new laws – necessitated only by the ever increasing incidents of Islamist terrorism inside Britain – all British people will have their name, date of birth and home address typed into a computer record for the police by the booking clerk or travel agent. Passengers will also face further ID checks when boarding their flight or ferry.

The measures form part of the Government’s ‘Contest’ document on anti-terrorism announced last week. In future, passengers will have to show photo ID, such as a driving licence or the proposed Government ID cards, when booking tickets for domestic air and sea journeys.

The powers will be introduced using a so-called ’statutory instrument’ signed off by the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, without the need for a full debate in the House of Commons.

The draconian internal measures – unheard of even during the last world war – are the direct result of a dramatic rise in Islamic extremist terrorism inside Britain which has seen more than 200 trials pass through the judicial system over the past year.

Faced with the rapid rise in terrorist incidents, the Government has typically refused to face up to the root causes of this phenomenon, and has instead tried to pretend that “anti-terror” laws will solve the problem.

The British National Party is the only political party which has publicly identified the causes of Islamist terrorism in Britain. They are firstly a resident Third World population base from which the Islamists draw recruits, and secondly a foreign policy which ensures that the Islamic world is incited against Britain.

Both Labour and Tory parties are to blame for this situation. Both have supported mass Third World immigration to Britain, and both have supported foreign wars in the Middle East which have inflamed the long-existing latent antagonism amongst the peoples of that region towards the West.

Now that the Tory and Labour traitor regimes have created the reality of Islamist terrorism in Britain, they seek to suppress their own Frankenstein monster by taking away the civil liberties of British people – bringing in the outrageous measures which include showing ID to travel from one city to the next.

The BNP says: If there was no mass Third World population inside Britain, these “anti-terrorism” measures would not be necessary. All the security laws in the world will not help an iota if the terrorists are present in such numbers that they form a demographic majority of the inhabitants of this island.

Crooks, Liars and Thieves: 113 Complaints against MP Expense Claims in Three Months, but Only One Investigated

March 30, 2009

pirates-in-parliament1The shocking arrogance of the Tory, Labour and Lib-Dem members of parliament has been revealed for all to see with the news that no less than 113 complaints about abuses were laid against individual MPs in just three months.

The MPs have their own safety valve for such complaints, and a body made up of, you guessed it, MPs, decides whether or not the complaints are valid. Not surprisingly, only one of the 113 complaints was ruled as “valid” despite the evidence being clear for all to see that gross abuse to the “second house” and expense claims system is widespread amongst the bloated parasites at the House of Treason on the River Thames.

The abuses have come to the fore once again with the claim by Home Secretary Jacqui Smith that her husband’s pornography viewing tastes were “accidentally” paid for by the taxpayer when the invoice for the two films called Who’s Nailin’ Palin and Belladonna’s Girl Train were submitted “by mistake” along with Mrs Smith’s other claims, which included five pay-per-view films which were all viewed at her family home in Redditch.

This “family home” is not to be confused with Ms Smith’s sister’s spare bedroom, for which she claimed “second house” expenses, ripping the taxpayer off once again.

The £67 movie bill was submitted last June and included two viewings of the film Ocean’s 13 – at £3.75 each – and an additional £3.50 to watch the film Surf’s Up.

Observers have pointed out that Ms Smith’s claim that she “mistakenly submitted the expenses claim” is clearly a pack of lies. No one would submit a claim of that nature without first checking it out thoroughly, especially at that level of government.

Indeed, an invoice for films with the titles such as those viewed by Mr Smith would leap out at even the casual observer, and it is near to impossible that Ms Smith could have missed them.

The reality is that the ruling elite have become so arrogant and dismissive of the public that they feel justified in getting the taxpayer to pay for absolutely everything.

As Home Secretary, Ms Smith already earns over £100K per year – and therefore has absolutely no need to claim for pay-per-view movies of any sort, never mind her husband’s interests.

The criminal gang at Westminster have created for themselves an almost foolproof protection racket. They have appointed a “Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards” who, at a nice salary of £108,000 a year for a four-day week, has the sole discretion to even consider telling the Standards and Privileges Committee about any abuses.

Mr John Lyon is the current holder of that office. If he rejects a complaint, or pursues it and then dismisses it, he does not have to publicly justify his decision. Only if he launches an investigation does he even have to tell the Standards and Privileges Committee. Even that is done in secret. That committee, which is comprised of ten MPs, then writes its own report and recommends what penalty, if any, an MP must pay.

According to the latest report issued by that body, a total of 113 complaints were lodged during a three month period but only one was investigated. Of the rest, 93 were dismissed summarily, three dismissed after a brief investigation, and 16 were carried forward and may still be under consideration.

Mr Lyon initially rejected a complaint into Jacqui Smith’s £116,000 second-home allowances, dismissing it without even asking to see any evidence – an indication of his partiality in the matter and a worrying indicator of the circumstances under which he rejected the other 96 complaints of which the public know.

The time has come for the British public to give these crooks, liars and thieves a kick in the ballots and vote BNP on June 4, 2009.

Manchester’s Bishop “Haw Haw” McCullough is a Traitor to His Country and People, Says BNP Church Spokesman

March 30, 2009

revd-westThe Bishop of Manchester, Nigel McCulloch, is a traitor to his country and his people, and should be more concerned with why his churches are empty and being converted into mosques rather than attacking the British National Party, said that party’s official spokesman on church matters, the Reverend Robert West (picture).

“The gospels record that Judas betrayed his master with a kiss, a great but false profession of love,” said Reverend West, who was ordained to the gospel ministry and inducted to a church pastorate in 1979 before going on to an impressive career lecturing in law and history at several Universities and Colleges in eastern England.

Reacting to an attack on the BNP by the bishop and his singing up to a Communist Party front organisation dedicated to third party interference in elections, Reverend West said “Treachery is the worst of sins for it is a hideous breach of trust with one’s own. The Bishop of Manchester is happy to betray his country and his countrymen, as well as his Church and its gospel, in order to gain the approval of those who never asked the British people if they would like the divide-and-rule society of many cultures, races, faiths, and tongues imposed cheek-by-jowl upon them.

“Not content with such an abhorrent approach, the Revd Nigel McCulloch – amidst falling congregations, the scandal of gross immorality in his own Church’s ministry, and the promotion of perversion and corruption in the city of Manchester – has sought to offload his own failings on the only party that offers common sense policies and hope to the British people.

“Whilst every other party panders to a mass invasion of our shores, and gives in wholesale to the coming tyranny of Islam and the EU, Bishop McCulloch seeks to condemn the BNP, and by implication the British people, for just being normal and wanting to save what they have and what is good,” Rev West said.

“We are bound to ask the question: ‘In whose pay and in whose service is this Bishop Haw-Haw?  Certainly not the service of the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has ordained that each nation, including our own, has been made by God (Psalm 86:9) and is to have its own country where its own values and interests may properly have priority (Genesis 10:5). If the Bishop finds the existence of countries ‘racist’ – and that is the implication of his anti-Christian views – he has no business living in ours or drawing the emoluments of his sacred office.”

“Moreover, the Bishop is wrong with his claims about extremism. If the Bishop wants to see extremists pulling down British identity, Britain’s traditions and mores, and our Christian religion he need only look to himself and his own paymasters in the pact of deceit between Labour, the Lib-Dems and the Conservatives.

“Ethnocide is where a person seeks the destruction of a people or a country and that is precisely what the Bishop is wantonly or wittingly doing. What sickens me in this consecrated Bishop is that he is betraying his people, his country, and our Christian gospel with a great profession of love; covering a vacuous mind, as much as it must hide a vaporous – and unearthly – hatred.”

In other religious news, less than twenty percent of England’s 44 bishops want to celebrate St George’s Day. Several of the bishops are, in fact, hostile, claiming it could be “dangerous” and cause a backlash from “other religious groups.”

* The Revd Robert West has combined his secular knowledge with the ordained ministry to produce a wealth of knowledge and experience which provides a timely corrective to the current political correctness now engulfing the other main parties and their equally wayward followers amongst the leaders of some of the ‘mainline’ churches. He joined the British National Party in 2007, frustrated with the treason and insanity he faced in Tory Central Office and shortly thereafter established the Christian Council of Britain to combat political correctness and extreme Mohammedanism in the religious, political and cultural sphere. He is currently the BNP’s lead Euro candidate in the East Midlands region.

Muslim Organisation Seeks to Outlaw Criticism of Islam

March 29, 2009

freedom1The United Nations Human Rights Council has passed a resolution proposed by Islamic nations that seeks to prevent criticism of religion in member states.

The Council voted 23 in favour of outlawing “defamation of religion” while 11 mostly Western nations voted against, with 13 countries abstaining.

The resolution was the brainchild of the 56 nation “Organisation of Islamic Conference.” The OIC stated that criticising, or even satirising, religion is a “violation of the rights of believers” and leads to discrimination and violence against religious people.

Pakistan, a much championed supposedly moderate Muslim state, originally proposed the resolution on behalf of the OIC. The resolution states:

“Defamation of religion is a serious affront to human dignity leading to a restriction on the freedom of their adherents and incitement to religious violence.”

The OIC then goes on to leave no one in any doubt as to which religion in particular they would like to see immune from criticism:

“Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism.”

The resolution then calls on all states to ensure that religious places, sites, shrines and symbols are protected and to enforce laws for those who are showing signs of intolerance of ethnic and religious minorities.

Although the resolution in not legally binding, there was never any real doubt the resolution would be passed as Muslim nations and supporters have a built in majority on the Human Rights Council.

Many free speech campaigners and critics of Islam have expressed disbelief that such an intolerant religion as Islam can preach to others about religious intolerance and the resolution is viewed as being a way for Muslims to mute any criticism of their actions and impose their version of rights and religion on the rest of the world.

There are also fears that as the notion of “defamation of religion” is so vague, it will be used by Islamic nations to stifle any dissent from accepted religious dogma and strengthen draconian laws against blasphemy in Muslim countries.

King of Troughminster: Labour MP Claims £310,714 Expenses for “Second Home”

March 29, 2009

harrycohen1Far-left Labour MP Harry Cohen was today slammed for claiming £310,000 in expenses for a second home whilst claiming that his usual residence is a one bedroom school house and caravan.

Cohen claims that his £375,000 home in his constituency of Leyton and Wansted in East London is not his main residence. As such, he has pocketed all of the maximum £104,701 in expenses on this property over the last five years.

Cohen has said that he has taken the maximum amount on his “second home” since 1990, meaning that he has pocketed the obscene amount of £310,714 in expenses. This total, paid for by the tax-payer, is thought to be the largest ever claimed by an MP.

The venue where the left-wing MP claims to rest his head of a night is his small one bedroom property in Colchester, some 75 miles away from his constituency. The Cohens also own a caravan at Mersea Island in Essex, only 20 miles away from the property in Colchester.

Mr. Cohen may seem to have a strange penchant for slumming it and commuting, preferring his one bedroom residence 75 miles away from his job to his £375,000 three bedroom house which is only 9 miles away from Westminster.

But it would appear that the MP, who has a Jack Russell called Rosa who is named after German Communist revolutionary Rosa Luxemburg, often gets confused as to where to hang his hat of an evening because on his Labour website he says he “enjoys living in Leyton with Ellen, his wife . . . Harry also spends weekends with Ellen and Rosa in their static caravan.”

Under House of Common rules, an MP’s main residence is considered to be where they spend most nights of the week and Cohen fully admits that his house in Leyton is where he spends most nights. This means that the taxpayer is effectively funding the Cohen’s holiday home, which is utterly unconnected with his parliamentary duties.

Rather than showing any contrition for his financial wrangling, Cohen made the following astonishing comments:

“When MP’s were given this allowance they were told, “Go and spend it boys” and this is what I have done. It is my right.”

Czech Government Collapse and Iceland Referendum Call Propels EU into New Crisis

March 28, 2009

eu-vaclav-klausThe inherent flaws in the European Union superstate have been revealed once again as that body is plunged into a new crisis caused by the collapse of the Czech government and a call for a referendum in Iceland.

The Czech Republic currently holds the EU presidency but has been without a government since early last week when it fell to a no-confidence vote in that nation’s parliament.

Earlier, the Czech president, who is unaffected by the fall of that nation’s government and who may even have played a role in its collapse, compared the EU to the Soviet Union in a formal speech to the European parliament.

President Vaclav Klaus said the Lisbon Treaty would worsen its deficit and questioned the need for the European parliament to exist.

The Czech president, who refuses to fly the EU flag over his official seat in Prague, said his country is not an EU province, and that “Attempts to speed up and deepen integration will endanger all the positive things achieved in Europe in the last half a century.”

“We cannot allow the situation to emerge where the citizens of member countries live their lives with a resigned feeling that the EU is not their own, that it is developing differently than they would wish, that they are only forced to accept it.”

The Czech Republic has yet to ratify the Lisbon treaty and the collapse of its government means that ratification will now be postponed. As that country’s president is opposed to the treaty, and has the power to appoint the next government, it is likely he will favour an alliance which is against ratification.

In the interim, Iceland’s biggest political party and former government has announced its opposition to joining the European Union citing the need to “protect Icelandic interests, including its fishing waters.”

The Independence Party, which remains the largest party despite being forced from office in January this year over the banking crisis, has announced that it will seek a national referendum on EU membership.

Citing the need to protect Icelandic interests, including its fishing waters, the party said it believes that “EU membership will not be in the interest of Iceland.”

The Independence Party has been the main force in Iceland’s politics for the past two decades. In January, the party and its premier Geir Haarde were forced out of office by mass protests in the wake of the global economic crisis. Elections are due April 25.

The Stranger within Our Gates: Police Identify 200 Potential Terrorists amongst Muslim Schoolchildren in Britain

March 28, 2009

muslim-childrenThe colonisation of Britain by the Third World is hitting home for this country’s police forces who have been forced to start monitoring Muslim schoolchildren for terrorist tendencies, it has been revealed.

Around two hundred Muslim schoolchildren, some as young as 13, have already been identified as “potential terrorists” by a police scheme that aims to spot youngsters who are “vulnerable” to Islamic radicalisation, according to Sir Norman Bettison, the chief constable of West Yorkshire Police and Britain’s most senior officer in charge of terror prevention.

Speaking to a newspaper, Sir Bettison said the “Channel project” had intervened in the cases of at least 200 children who were thought to be at risk of extremism since it began 18 months ago. The number has leapt from ten children identified by June 2008.

The programme, run by the Association of Chief Police Officers, asks teachers, parents and other community figures to be vigilant for signs that may indicate an attraction to extreme views or susceptibility to being “groomed” by radicalisers.

Sir Norman, whose force covers the area in which all four 7 July 2005 bombers grew up, said: “What will often manifest itself is what might be regarded as racism and the adoption of bad attitudes towards ‘the West’.

“One of the four bombers of 7 July was, on the face of it, a model student. He had never been in trouble with the police, was the son of a well-established family and was employed and integrated into society.”

The Channel project was originally piloted in Lancashire and the Metropolitan Police borough of Lambeth in 2007, but in February last year it was extended to West Yorkshire, the Midlands, Bedfordshire and South Wales. Due to its success there are now plans to roll it out to the rest of London, Thames Valley, South Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and West Sussex.

The scheme, funded of course by British taxpayers through the Home Office, sees officers working alongside Muslim communities to identify impressionable children who are at risk of radicalisation or who have shown an interest in extremist material — on the internet or in books.

Poem for the Day:  The Stranger, by Rudyard Kipling

The Stranger within my gate,

He may be true or kind,

But he does not talk my talk-

I cannot feel his mind.

I see the face and the eyes and the mouth,

But not the soul behind.

The men of my own stock,

They may do ill or well,

But they tell the lies I am wonted to,

They are used to the lies I tell;

And we do not need interpreters

When we go to buy or sell.

The Stranger within my gates,

He may be evil or good,

But I cannot tell what powers control-

What reasons sway his mood;

Nor when the Gods of his far-off land

Shall repossess his blood.

The men of my own stock,

Bitter bad they may be,

But, at least, they hear the things I hear,

And see the things I see;

And whatever I think of them and their likes

They think of the likes of me.

This was my father’s belief

And this is also mine:

Let the corn be all one sheaf-

And the grapes be all one vine,

Ere our children’s teeth are set on edge

By bitter bread and wine.
