BNP Re-established in Wirral

October 20, 2008 - By BNP News

More than 50 people attended the relaunched Wirral BNP group on 9 October, hearing speeches from a number of leading local activist including Bill Murray, Wales BNP secretary and Duncan Warner, North West secretary.

Organiser David Bell opened the meeting by welcoming the packed room of supporters and then gave a brief talk on the importance of all members introducing passion into everything they say and do whenever discussing the party.

The first guest speaker was James Clayton, an ardent Blackpool activist well known for his help in various parts of the country. James gave a well presented talk and finished to hearty applause.

John Edwards, a local activist, spoke briefly about the planning permission recently given for a local mosque and the implications of this decision on the local community.

The next speaker was Bill Murray, who spoke of the importance of the local groups in the area having closer ties, and forming working relationships in order to have a greater number of activists for each of their days of action, leafleting etc.

After a short break Duncan Warner, who is also Stockport organiser, spoke about his candidature in the May Parish Elections, and of how he had brought complaints against his two opponents (Labour and Independent) for not declaring their full expenses especially with relation to third party leaflets. One of these people has resigned as a result and there will be a by-election on 6th November, in which the BNP plans to poll well. This news was greeted with rapturous applause.

Michael Molloy was elected as fundholder as a collection raised £183 for group funds. The meeting concluded with the singing of Jerusalem and everyone left after a most enjoyable evening.

* The meeting was followed by an inner-core committee meeting of ten members the following week, to discuss ways forward in the future.
