Considering the amount of heat that lies beneath the earth's surface, apropos' that encountered down coal mines, I wonder whether the system outlined by BNPorBust, which I personally have seen working most efficiently, could be incorporated into every new building constructed, but using a relatively simple vertical drilling procedure down to say fifteen feet and whether this could possibly provide long term free heating and hot water to millions of homes, offices and factories in the UK?. Imagine the saving of gas and electricity on that scale.

I have a friend who has recently built a large house here in the UK incorporated into which is a large indoor swimming pool, all of which is heated by a system outlined by BNPorBust. I have no doubt that it was relatively expensive but I am convinced that its cost will be recovered easily within five years and from then on it will be free heating for ever and ever and ever...........

I understand Britain has huge coal reserves - 600 years energy supply - destroyed by the Tories to leave us dependent on their international backers. We need clean coalo technology and a drive to reconstruct our working communities and restore nationjal independence.
Surely we need a party to back research into resumed coal use (and its immense chemical content too) and regain national control of our our energy supplies?

There is about 300 years of natural gas available right now without looking at new sources. "Peak oil "is a term being used by the government to justify raising the price of gas and imposing more laws to controls us.
It is a term "they" tried using 20+ years ago and it didn't stick. They then switched to "Global warming" and then and the Earth started to enter a cooling period in the late 90's. That's when they switched the phase to "Climate change". Don't listen to anything the media or the government tells you, It is the ultimate shell game. Look around and discover the truth for yourself! Question everything that you hear and try to use logic when you read or hear a doomsday statement made by a talking head. Embrace reality and dump the fake reality supplied by the powers that control that sewer pipe of TV and movies and garbage news corporations.
Don't get me wrong I am a movie addict. I just have a very good "bullshit' filter if you know what I mean!

I too used to regard the so-called Peak Oil Crisis like everyone else, until I read this-<a href="http://www.gasresources.net/AlkaneGenesis.htm-" target="_blank">www.gasresources.net/AlkaneGenesis.htm-</a> now I'm convinced that the whole thing is just another lie and another way of controlling us all. Also there is more untapped oil under Alaska's North Slope than there ever was in Saudi Arabia but the Marxists in the White House will not allow access to it. I wonder why?

Someone on the BBC forums asked is the BNP all bad? after a bit of research i posted a reply about how this party has peak oil as a main link ( I follow world environmental events closely) After a bit of an attack on me I reposted a reply....
I look at green parties too... and guess what, they are ignoring the issue as well. Overpopulation is the real inconvenient truth. What I heard Jack Straw say on QT was by far the scariest thing said on the show that night (even if most people don't see it). He and his like are pushing to cause the death of 6 billion people in their blinkered greedy view. Yes The Holocaust was a terrible thing and it shows how bad we can be to each other, but it will compare very little to the death almost equivalent to every man woman and child living on the planet today by 2050. The continued pushing of our population against a fixed resource, we are heading for disaster. So far as I said the BNP has peak oil as a main link, and I am giving them credit where credit is due on that point. The greens do of course know about peak oil and overpopulation but they are scared to highlight it, as we saw with Jack Straw on QT with his big no no to managing population - the subject too far. They have turned immigration and population levels into racism. The corner stone of the global economic model is based on a rising population, a liner model that is, not only not sustainable, it is near its end. I was only pointing out what I said because someone else asked the question are the BNP all bad? To answer the question I did a bit of research on it, not just a knee jerk reply and found the link I mentioned.
At the moment overpopulation, climate change and peak oil are the most important issues humans face right now, everything else is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, well done BNP for having the balls to highlight this very very serious problem.

Given we live on an island we have a great opportunity to use both wind and tidal resources to our advantage and should be channelling our efforts into embracing these renewable resources making us less reliant on others for our energy needs. Solar power is another renewable resource we should be using more.

A client of mine sells eco-friendly heat pumps that provide free hot water by using the earths geothermal heat to create hot water. The way it works is quite simple yet ingenious. Pipes are laid a few feet down in the ground where the ambient temperature is around 6 degrees. The pipes are filled with a gel that increase the heat which is compressed and heats water to a temperature of over 60 degrees, hey presto free hot water for ever.

If the money our nation wasted on euro bureaucracy and immigration was instead used to provide households with the tools to generate cheap renewable energy such as wind turbines, solar panels and heat pumps and also channelled into revitalising our education system, health service and overhaul our transportation system then Britain would be a much better place to live and have a much brighter future.

Here is my contribution to understanding Peak Oil.

According to energy investment banker Matthew Simmons and most independent analysts, global oil production is now declining, from 74 million barrels per day to 60 million barrels per day by 2015. During the same time demand will increase 14%.

This is equivalent to a 33% drop in 7 years. No one can reverse this trend, nor can we conserve our way out of this catastrophe. Because the demand for oil is so high, it will always be higher than production; thus the depletion rate will continue until all recoverable oil is extracted.

Alternatives will not even begin to fill the gap. And most alternatives yield electric power, but we need liquid fuels for tractors/combines, 18 wheel trucks, trains, ships, and mining equipment.

Surviving Peak Oil: We are facing the collapse of the highways that depend on diesel trucks for maintenance of bridges, cleaning culverts to avoid road washouts, snow plowing, roadbed and surface repair. When the highways fail, so will the power grid, as highways carry the parts, transformers, steel for pylons, and high tension cables, all from far away. With the highways out, there will be no food coming in from "outside," and without the power grid virtually nothing works, including home heating, pumping of gasoline and diesel, airports, communications, and automated systems.

This is documented in a free 48 page report that can be downloaded, website posted, distributed, and emailed: http://www.peakoilassociates.com/POAnalysis.html
