RWB Set Up Team Hard at Work!
With a week still to go before what is shaping up to be the biggest, most forward-looking and best Red-White-and-Blue yet, half a dozen of the medium-size marquees are already up and the huge central grass area has been close cut.
This brief piece of footage, shot on a mobile phone by Nick Griffin on Thursday shortly before he spoke at a meeting of neighbouring Broxtowe BNP (just a couple short of a hundred were present at the very successful event, chaired by Councillor Nina Brown) shows the idyllic scene as the sun set at evening.
Part of Friday was taken up sorting out the bring-it-yourself bar area. This will be a large marquee and roped off area, complete with tables, chairs, background music, cold soft drinks and mixers bar, snack sales and evening lighting. The only thing missing will be the alcohol which we have been prevented from selling by the spite of the local Powers That Be.
But the BNP is never beaten, and we’ll be providing plastic glasses and plenty of ice so that you can enjoy the atmosphere and comradeship of a Red-White-and-Blue bar with whatever alcohol you want to bring for yourself or to share with friends.
This year we’ve added a whole extra field for campers, so even with the expected increase in numbers there will be much more space for tents and caravans than there was last year.
We hope that you’ve already made up your mind to join all the people like you coming to Derbyshire for this year’s RWB, but if you’re still not sure then watch this space over the next few days and we’ll keep providing the good news that will persuade you!
