Why no description?

We quote from today’s London Evening Standard:-

A teenager murdered the day after his 16th birthday was killed in an unprovoked attack after he refused to take part in a fight, police said tonight.

A manhunt was under way to track the killer responsible for cutting “gentle giant” Jimmy Mizen’s neck with glass following a row as he went to buy a Lottery ticket with his brother.

Jimmy was near his home in the Three Cooks bakery in Lee, south east London, when a youth challenged him to a fight at around 11.50am on Saturday.

After devout Catholic Jimmy declined to fight, the attacker smashed down the bakery door and picked up an advertising board which he wielded inside.

The remainder of the article may be read here .

Other reports appear in a number of online editions, including those of The Times, Reuters UK, BBC, International Herald Tribune and even the Shanghai Daily! They all have one thing in common – no description of the thug responsible for this crime.

Bearing in mind that there clearly were witnesses to this savagery we are left asking: Why?
