BNP Start Election Campaign with Two Elected in Carlisle

April 4, 2008 - By BNP News

tony-carvell-brian-allan.jpgToday, 4th April 2008, at noon, nominations closed for the Carlisle City Council, Parish and Town local elections. BNP candidates Tony Carvell and Brian Allan have been elected unopposed onto Wetheral Parish Council.Brian Allan now represents the in the Cotehill ward, and Tony Carvell in the Scotby ward.

This is a fantastic start to the Carlisle British National Party Carlisle City Council campaign, not only because the BNP now have two councillors in Carlisle, (three in Cumbria now) for the very first time, but also as Cllr Brian Allan and Cllr Tony Carvell are also contesting two of our strongest wards in the city elections.

The BNP are contesting 9 wards this year in the Carlisle City Council elections. Two candidates are standing in Barrow-in-Furness, making eleven in Cumbria. The North East and Cumbria, the Border region, have over 100 BNP candidates this year.

The Chairman of the British National Party, Nick Griffin, will be in Carlisle, during the election period, campaigning with the Carlisle candidates.
