100,000 Leaflets: 250 Activists: The BNP’s Biggest Ever Push in London!
Rain was no deterrent to around 250 dedicated BNP activists from around the country who descended on London for the first National Weekend of Action in support of Richard Barnbrook’s Greater London Assembly election campaign this past weekend.
Leafleting teams fanned out over much of our capital city, delivering an astonishing 100,000 “Londoner” leaflets over the two days.
This huge effort, unprecedented in nationalist politics, struck a terrific blow to the nay-sayers who would like to believe that the BNP is suffering from some type of internal trouble, or who would like to see the BNP’s campaign in London fail.
The turnout even exceeded lead candidate Richard Barnbrook’s expectations!
The first day began at the rendezvous point, with the various teams following a carefully planned and mapped-out programme developed by Richard and BNP elections guru Eddy Butler. Each leafleting team was given an area, specifically designed to maximise their time, and they set off, enthusiasm already apparent.
BNP chairman Nick Griffin also joined in the day’s leafleting exercise, with dozens of people recognising him in person and expressing their support. In fact, the amount of support given to the leafleting teams by the public – even in areas which traditionally would not have been fertile BNP territory, was astonishing, as confirmed by the report backs handed in at the end of the day.

The Saturday evening was marked by a mini organiser’s conference and rally, which was attended by 120 people. Speakers were Eddy Butler, Mark Collet (who introduced the new striking local election leaflet he has designed, which allows for even greater customisation for local areas), deputy party leader Simon Darby, training officer Arthur Kemp, and was ended off with a rousing speech from Nick Griffin, which was deservedly greeted with a standing ovation.
Sunday proved to be no less hectic, with teams going out to new target areas. Once again, the report backs showed overwhelming public support for the BNP, and a sure sign that one of the greatest political upsets in British history is set to take place on 1 May 2008.
* Richard Barnbrook is holding National Weekends of Action every month leading up to May, and leafleting teams will be out each and every weekend as well. Anyone wish to help is asked to contact Richard through their regional organiser.
